Hot Pants Mama Returns

I went to send my son to his kindergarten last Wednesday and bumped into HPM again. She hasn’t changed a bit in the two months that I have not seen her.

Was that a subtle kiss she blew at me before she waved goodbye?

It’s 5.59am

I must have slept early, but I woke up at 4.10am.

Early means before midnight. That’s real early for me. I didn’t even notice the missed calls and text messages from my daughters asking me to pick them up from my father’s house, where they went to celebrate both their grandfather’s and cousin’s birthday.

Honey sent me several text messages to me too, asking me if I was still awake. Finally I think she herself felt sleepy and sent me this last text message that I read when I woke up:

“Am sleepy… Nite nite sweet dreams Hon. U must know u will always have a special place in my heart. Sleep tight xoxoxo”

She’s been busy with family gatherings, weddings and dinners; I have been keeping myself busy by going out on a nightly basis, so much so that I was truly exhausted – my body gave up on me, giving me severe warnings.

Here are some more pics taken by Rocket and Cindy Sim (Countess):

It was a good outing nevertheless. Honey and I do great stuff together.

Warning!

It is now 6.55am.

Slightly more than an hour ago, some would have received an SMS from me.

At 1.00am, I felt a sharp pain left of the upper part of the Sternum, on the rib cage an inch away from the Sternum.

This sharp pain reoccured at 5.35am.

As I type this, I feel slight discomfort in that region.

I’m going to sleep now.

It’s 6.48am

5.58am.

I just got back. In the darkness of the room I removed my clothes and changed into t-shirt and kain pelikat. Two minutes passed when The Datin’s cellphone’s alarm went off. She got up to turn off the alarm, looked at the digital clock, then turned to me and asked, “Kenapa tak balik pagi nanti aje?”

“Ini pagi la ni!” I replied. “Awal pagi! Pukul 6 pagi!”

I’m Going Back Flying

My aircrew medical has been cleared. My tinnitus apparently has not hindered my hearing as I could hear all the required frequencies. The only snag is I can never fly solo because of my hypertension – so I have been cleared to fly multicrew. I’ll just have to find a licensed sucker to fly with me.

I also plan to have a change of type. Aircraft type, that is. I used to fly the Cessna 172 Skyhawk a lot, but I plan to change to the Cessna 206 Stationair. The 172s are nimbler and lighter and fun to fly. But the 206 is bigger in capacity, and a lot heavier. The police pilots used to complain about the somewhat difficult handling of the 206s, before they switched to the Pilatus PC-6s and Cessna 208 Grand Caravans.

So, some weekends when I’m not diving, I’ll be flying. Maybe it’s time to fly to Ipoh for nasi kandar followed by ais kacang in Sitiawan…just like old times.
