Demented and Deranged

I meant to write this before I left for Perhentian but got tied up with personal stuff. Now I wonder if I can actually pen my thoughts as my thoughts are being clouded by lots of unhappy situations.

The President of the Malaysian Muslim Consumer Association recently called for the government to ban a movie called…for heaven’s sake, I cannot recall offhand, which is supposed to be a sequel of ‘Bruce Almighty.’ The reason stated is, it will lead to blasphemy and apostasy.

How on earth can someone commit blasphemy by watching a movie? You have to ask yourself one question first. How do you become a Muslim? You must first attest that you believe in the one God and in His monoentity and that Muhammad is his Messenger. So for you to blaspheme is to denounce God.

So is it a blasphemous act to watch that movie? Do people actually believe Jim Carrey is god? Will the movie make people go to a Jim Carrey shrine and pray to him? I wonder now why God gave us mind to think with.

How narrow minded can people be.

Anyway, I got to writing this because on my way to Perhentian a school in Kuala Krai organised a power walk. It was sad to see that the malay students grouped together while the non-malays walked together.

Someone should do something quickly.

This Is My Site

This is my website, I paid for it. Those who read it can take the content and like it, or shove it up their shithole. As the owner of this site, I can write whatever I like as long as I do not condemn any religion, the King and country, incite racial hatred and stuff like that.

And if I choose to write about my personal problems in here, then it is better for me to do so. You wouldn’t want to know what I am like if I cannot vent out my frustration. I used to jump out of aircraft and buildings for God’s sake. Use that grey matter between your ears for once.

To my parents and siblings who read this blog. Things happen for a reason. I don’t fall in and out of love for no reason. During the past two marriages, I chose not to reveal my marital problems to anyone because I am a firm believer in the saying “The Truth Will Finally Prevail.” So I always kept my silence and took the responsibility for the failure of my marriages as head of the respective family. What I have always wanted in a marriage is love, respect, trust and a smile. I don’t ask for food or for my clothes to be washed and ironed military-style. I have always wanted someone who could give me a smile when I come home, listen to my daily grouses and not having to say anything about it whether she agrees or disagrees with it.

But when someone has taken the initiative to do a pre-emptive strike, I can no longer contain my anger and frustration. The details I shall spare from the readers and spies alike who are always here watching this blog. But in short, the short answer to your first question is YES I AM SEEING SOMEONE AND YES I BELIEVE SHE WOULD MAKE A GOOD WIFE TO ME. No, I cannot say for sure how sure I am but if I don’t leap into the unknown, I will never know. Life is a gamble, and so is a marriage. You strive to make it work..but in the absence of either one of four keypoints I have listed above, it will never work out.

I am 41, I am tired. I’m into my second half in life…but I don’t know when my Team Manager’s going to pull me out of the field. So I deserve to be happy…for once.

So let me.

Lull At The Lal Masjid

Headache - courtesy of The Muslim Women.org

The leaders of the Lal Masjid fanatics are gone, probably now answering why did they mislead fellow Muslims into doing bad deeds in the name of Islam, and why did they give Islam a bad name, causing untold sufferings to fellow brethren. What President Musharraf did was right: to show extremists that they have no place in the Muslim society; and this point should be noted by the authorities in Malaysia before it is too late as many of these ugly ducklings have reared their head in this country. A more comprehensive action needs to be taken, and it has to begin with education: the understanding of the fundamentals of Islam as brought to us from Allah SWT in His Holy Book.

Anyway, back to Pakistan, Musharraf needs a three-pronged strategy, in my opinion. First is to gain control of the madrasahs and put them under the auspices of the state (read: Federal Government); second is to educate and re-educate the general public, especially the youths and children, the real teachings of Islam as a way of life (never use Islam as a religion because religion is what spoils it in the first place); third is to continue to combat terrorism and extremism.

Yes, easier said than done. But Musharraf has to do it. He must also make sure that his aspiration to eradicate extremism in Pakistan has to be shared with and understood by his subordinates. He should also ensure that his subordinates are his real allies since there has been several attempts on his life already to date, and I am sure more will come after the Lal Mosque episode.

The problem is, Musharraf himself has destroyed, or undermined, the political structure of Pakistan to the point that it is too weak to survive a sudden post-Musharraf era (read: assassination). Therefore, steps have to be taken to ensure that the public at large has little or no grouses against his government. Without the support of the general public, the latter will only be too happy to see Musharraf go, no matter what method was used, or by whom.

The Malaysian government, too, should take preventive steps now, to eradicate, not only extremism, but misintepretation of Islam by such people.

The Sea Is My Love – Part 2

Abandoned House - Willie Anne Right

Someone did not quite understand my previous posting.

One of the things I did..well, the first thing I did when I was first heartbroken was to grab hold of a dinghy and rowed as far out to sea as I could and hoped for some strong surface current to help me from thereon.

The sea will keep me.

And I am going back to it.

There were rooms of forgiveness
In the house that we share
But the space has been emptied
Of whatever was there
There were cupboards of patience
There were shelf loads of care
But whoever came calling
Found nobody there
After today, consider me gone

Roses have thorns and shining waters mud
And cancer lurks deep in the sweetest bud
Clouds and eclipses stain the moon and the sun
And history reeks of the wrongs we have done
After today, consider me gone

I’ve spent too many years at war with myself
The doctor has told me it’s no good for my health
To search for perfection is all very well
But to look for heaven is to live here in hell

After today, consider me gone

Busybody

I wonder if a busybody called Shikin is reading this now.

If you are, go buy a dildo and entertain yourself instead of adding fuel to fire.

No wonder you and her love politics.

POLY = many TICS = blood-sucking parasites.

The Sun Sets On The Eve Of My Birthday

The sun sets on the last day of my 40th year of life

It was a year ago that I wrote “Hey, I’m 40”.

The sun set just now as I was driving towards TTDI from PWTC after the end of the third day of MIDE 2007, signaling the end of the 40th year of this miserable life of mine.

Yes, miserable.

To tell you the truth, there have been several times that I’ve wanted this life to end. If happiness is what I cannot have, then I shouldn’t be here. I think I’ve been in more depressions than I have had happiness. Seven years ago people always wonder why I always open my parachute low after removing the automatic opening device from the reserve chute. Two years ago when the wife chose to do long distance quarrel from Beijing, I did three decompression dives in a row all in a day but never did any decompression stop and my buddies Dennis, Yusmar and Mervyn were horrified because towards the end I was so narced that I saw a pink Great Barracuda behind Dennis and Mervyn.

It is a bad thing cause the sport I love to have bad publicity just because of me. So I simply drive fast nowadays. I keep telling my wife that it is probably due to the fact that whenever I leave the house I come home in one piece that she takes me for granted, thinking that everytime I go out of the house, I’d come home alive or in on piece. Oh, there were several close calls when, in anger, I replied to her SMS and almost drove off the highway.

It’s 22 minutes to the end of my 40th year of suffering.

I don’t want to go through another year, please.

Patriot Games

Vladimir Putin - AP picture

Time to relax a bit and talk about the world other than my own.

No, I’m not going to talk about Altantuya or C-TOS. I’m going to talk about global politics this time.

Recently there was a spate of terrorism acts in the UK. The UK authorities have done a good job in arresting suspects, and Muslim leaders in the UK were correct in distancing themselves from these extreme idiots and denouncing their acts. The acts, including the ramming of a passenger terminal at Glasgow’s airport, came as a surprise to the British authorities. However, it was revealed later that the US Department of Homeland Security knew about the imminent attacks on British soil, but prefered not to inform the new government led by Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Welcome to the real world, Mr Prime Minister.

George W Bush was busy courting Vladimir Putin, that he invited the latter to his family home. It was an ad-hoc summit to discuss the working relationship between the US and the Russian Federation. The US was more interested in getting the Russians to play game in applying economic sanctions against Iran, while the Russians wanted to say their piece on the encroachment of US Missile Defence Umbrella in the former Eastern Bloc countries such as Poland. In the end, it is suffice to say that the summit ended miserably with a no-tie result.

Russia has everything to gain by NOT supporting the US stance. By supporting Iran, Russian has a card to play against the seemingly hegemonic approach provided by the US Foreign Policy. By supporting Iran, too, it would seem that Russia will have a plus point with the other Islamic countries, save for the ones under US “rule” such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and a few others. And by doing so, Russia can get support from the Islamic world, in ending the separatist terror in Chechnya and other minor Muslim republics. It is not that far-fetched, and Russia knows this.

Iran, too, has been playing its international cards correctly. It has cemented a anti-US pact with Venezuela. Ahmedinijad and Chavez both announced a US$2 billion rollover fund to counter US economic pressure n the two countries. And the Organisation of African Countries recognises these two countries’ effort in being non-aligned with the US.

So, it would be interesting to see this development as it goes along. We’ll see who will have the upper hand.
