Rashid Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang Melayu Pertama?

Pernicious Pakatan

I still remember before the 12th General Elections when the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat came up with 23 promises in their manifesto. The first category, “Administration” had these:

  1. To ensure that all state assemblymen are always clean from misappropriation or corruption throughout their term of service.
  2. To form a special body To investigate any misappropriation regarding the administration of land and other state resources.

Everyone lauded the now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat for the manifesto. Soon after forming the state government the MACC was already investigating shady deals involving the state government that led to the demise of witness Teoh Beng Hock whose death benefitted DAP more than the Barisan Nasional, and the aide of former Menteri Besar, Khalid Ibrahim who has sinced been sentenced to prison with whipping.

Recently, PKR’s Chicken Blower Rafizi Ramli (above) made a report to the MACC on bribes being asked by members of the Selangor administration.

The bribes, in the form of women, are said to be asked to those wanting favours from people in the state government.

Today, we have been shocked once again – a former PKR Selangor MP has been arrested by the MACC for receiving bribes amounting to RM30,000 to facilitate a contractor’s tender process. He is also being investigated for eight other offences.

A despicable offence that he is also being investigated for is the misappropriation of provident funds of a disabled person. The money totaling  RM60,000 was siphoned out from the provident fund account after he convinced the disabled person to withdraw the savings and passed to him.

All the offences above were committed while he was still in office yet not one special body was set up by the Pakatan Rakyat government.

Pakatan Rakyat/Pakatan Harapan mase so much noise about the alleged abuses done by the Barisan Nasional from 1974-2008. Yet, the Selangor state government has managed to do despicable things within the first eight years alone.

They had no qualms cheating a disabled person of his life savings. And do you still want to give them power?

Faulty Diversion

The heat is certainly on Lim Guan Eng on the #NoSwimmingPool issue. The silly #BadFengShui excuse given by Teresa Kok makes the whole circus even sillier. Who in the right mind would want to buy a property that has bad Feng Shui? To make matters worse, a Melaka DAP officeholder has quit the party to become an independent. Johor-born Lim Guan Eng was a Melaka DAP person until he found it difficult to get support there that he had to contest in Penang, making the Penang DAP folks look like they are incompetent to run the affairs of their own state.

Anyway, you can lookup the hastags above on Twitter and see what has been discussed.

To take the heat of Lim Guan Eng, the DAP has been giving all sorts of silly excuses to defend his purchase of the property at No.25 Jalan Pinhorn:

Enter Liew Chin Tong. Liew tries to divert the whole attention to this recently-revealed document, saying that Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah was part of the plot to topple Najib Razak, a claim underscored by an enraged Mahathir who had to even confess that he was a dictator!

Nice try, Ah Tong. I can come up with such an unsigned draft and claim that it was godsent. But all I have seen so far is this:

That Ku Li signed the declaration to support Najib Razak. And unlike the unsigned document above, he actually signed the declaration of support.

We won’t forget Section 165 of the Penal Code and how similar Guan Eng’s case is to that of Khir Toyo’s. The question now is when, since the MACC is trying best to protect Guan Eng by delaying taking his statement.

Tokong Mustn’t Lie

The above was sent to Lim Guan Eng. it states the valued price of the bungalow at No.25, Jalan Pinhorn. Yet, Guan Eng had the cheek to say the following:

It seems impossible for Guan Eng to NOT know about the value of the property or his claim to NOT know about the plans for the land at Taman Manggis. Mind you, let us see what are his other portfolios:

I have a message for you, Guan Eng:

Is The MACC On The Opposition’s Payroll?

I found the following on My Nation:

For the pasr three days I have been wondering if the MACC is part of the conspiracy as mentioned by Muhyiddin a few days back. The inaction by MACC on cases involving civil servants and Barisan Nasional politicians is telling…blatantly. This latest action by MACC seems like a red herring, a diversion from the pressure it is facing:

RM0.00 SPRM tahan 9 orang termasuk seorang pegawai kanan sebuah kementerian terlibat sindiket salah guna dana kerajaan.Akibatnya rugi dana RM100 juta-Agendanews
RM0.00 PEGAWAI itu kerap terbang first class keluar negara dgn keluarga.Banyak jam mahal.Ada satu RM400,000,kereta mewah, barang kemas,beg2 berjenama -Agendanews

Fine that it is acting against errant civil servants but has it said anything about Lim Guan Eng’s case.

Suddenly, Lim Guan Eng came up with a very weird statement:

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng today expressed surprise over the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) saying it previously investigated his tenancy at a Penang home, saying it never contacted him regarding the case.
He also questioned why the MACC neither announced that it had investigated him over the issue nor the outcome of the investigation.
“It is intriguing that the MACC in Penang said it once investigated my tenancy at the home in 2009. If that is so, why did it not announce to the public in 2009 that this was baseless?
– See more at: http://www.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia/article/after-macc-reveals-past-probe-guan-eng-questions-silence-about-outcome

It begs the question: is the MACC on the Opposition’s payroll?

Will MACC Not Act Again?

Today, Datuk Huan Cheng Guan has lodged a report against Lim Guan Eng on the No.25 Jalan Pinhorn property issue and how it is linked to the Taman Manggis land sale.

Earlier, Lim Guan Eng mentioned in a press conference that he had no knowledge that the Taman Manggis land had been earmarked for the construction of low-cost affordable homes. Perhaps Guan Eng also suffers from memory loss like Mahathir:

The MACC, probably under pressure to do something as the spotlight is now on the agency, has announced that an investigation paper has been opened on the Lim Guan Eng case:

A previous investigation on Lim Guan Eng was forwarded to the MACC HQ in 2010 but there was no further action – not even forwarded to the then-Attorney-General, not even to its oversight panel. Of course there wasn’t any donkey cries as in the recent case of the SRC/1MDB. Let me recap:

12-02-2010, 06:58 PM

So when an investigation paper on a member of the Opposition gets to the MACC HQ, it enters a black hole.

We will see how far will this “investigative” effort get. Perhaps, it will be just another NFA.

By the way, does anyone still remember that there was an allegation of abuse of power by a senior ranking MACC officer but was dismissed by the MACC top man? Apparently there already was a police report being made on that in Kota Bharu just after when the alleged abuse of power took place. No action was taken.

Recently there was another report made in the Klang Valley by the same complainant on the same allegation involving the same MACC person. So far that too has been met with silence on both the PDRM and the MACC side.

Is the MACC covering for the wrong-doings by its ranks?

The Silence Is MACC

Roughly a year ago the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission began drumming up for war against 1MDB with one goal and one goal only – to piece together selective evidences collected so there would be a corruption case against Najib Razak. As an investigator, that is how I perceive the investigation conducted by the MACC.

Recently, there has been an exposé on a certain property at No.25 Jalan Pinhorn in Georgetown, Pulau Pinang. In the words of MCA’s Tan Khai Beng:

This is the property in question:

The S&P sounds VERY similar to the case of the original Mr Botox, Khir Toyo, the former Menteri Besar of Selangor who, with his cohorts, caused the serious erosion of support towards the Barisan Nasional and its subsequent virtually irrecoverable loss in Selangor in 2008. Khir was sentenced to 12 months (I wish it was years instead) imprisonment for a similar property deal.

While surrounding properties have been valued at between RM5 million to RM6 million, this particular property cost Lim Guan Eng almost a third of its value. When asked about the price, Guan Eng’s pathetic excuse was:

I don’t care so much about the property. My real concern is this:

Why hasn’t the MACC concluded the investigation into the sale and purchase of the property at No.25 Jalan Pinhorn? The investigation paper was opened in 2012 and it’s been four years already with no end in sight. I am beginning to question MACC’s apartisanship and the integrity of its officers.

Perhaps, the MACC too has a price.

When Daim Talks Cock

I found this in a WhatsApp group I reluctantly subscribes to (a friend added me into the group thinking I have all the time to look and reply to messages). It is an old message sent during the peak of Mahathir’s attacks on Najib made viral by people who read without understanding and share without substantiating. The message is as folows:

Bro what say you:

Currency is expected to go down further to RM 4.50 by end of September as Ringgit not used as currency’s for trading in world market stock exchange. Ringgit stumbled as the govt. further cut on export of crude and import more. Everyone should take precaution as this is a crashed economy as a whole. Bank Negara only held reserved of RM101 billion at this moment. Our debt climbed to 580 billion.Stop buying any properties or car. Disaster is on the way.

World

Economic Analyst predict within 100 days, Malaysia will collapse. Stock market & currency value will take a nose dive in a drastic manner.

This is due to world negative economic outlook; World’s security issue due to terrorism – ISIS, & middle East conflict. There has been much fear on the Spartly Island; where China, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippine and Malaysia want to claim ownership rights. The recent China & Russia military training exercise is to show their military alliance & strength. This is to tell US to lay off. Indirectly to warn US, Japan & Phillipine, do not wage war against China or Russia.

The recent crude oil crash is due to oversupply. The Americans are pumping in the world more crude oil. The reasons: i) to hurt Russian’s economy and her currency as Russian is world’s no1. Oil exporter. US & EU are blaming Russia for Ukraine’s turmoil & the unresolved MH 17 issue. ii) to stop terrorists, particularly ISIS for selling cheap smuggled crude oil from Syria & Iraq.

Malaysia is compounded by political uncertainty; corruption, abuse of one’s power & withholding the truth.

The world has perceived Malaysia as no. 1 in world ranking in: i)Corruption & Scandals; and ii) world’s champion in Credit Cards forgery.

So my dear friends & family members; please spend your money wisely. Keep your Money for rainy days. We are heading towards World economic collapse. The days ahead will be difficult and bumpy. The journey is tough & unpredictable. This will hit hard on All of us; regardless whether you are rich or poor. All the best to All.

<Tun Daim>

Let’s take the first point: Currency is expected to go down further to RM 4.50 by end of September and our stock market will crash.

The Ringgit was not the only one that went down against the Greenback. Many other currencies did, and many other countries spent far much more of their reserves than Malaysia to prop up their currency. And this year the Ringgit is one of the few currencies that have actually strengthened against the Dollar. Now how has the Ringgit fared against the Dollar?

Daim’s doomsay mentioned about the Ringgit going beyond the 4.50 mark, much like the 4.88 mark when Mahathir was at the helm. In fact the highest in January we went as low as 4.43175 and this morning we’re at 4.17965. I would say it is the Dollar that has taken a but if a dive compared to the Ringgit. What about our stock market? Let’s see this Year To Date chart to see its performance:

Are we doomed?

Next point: Our debt is that 580 billion and therefore we are doomed.

Let us look at the rankings below:

The top nine above all have more than USD1 Trillion in external debts. But I don’t see Malaysia anywhere in the top nine and none of the countries above say they are doomed. Let’s go down the line further:

Hong Kong and Singapore are at number 15 also with more than USD 1 Trillion yet I see zombies on Facebook saying why is Singapore doing better than us? Going by Daim’s logic Singaporeans should be in a civil war and mass lootings by now. So, where are we then?

Oh! We’re number 30 on the list! We’re not as doomed then!

Next point: stop buying properties or cars!

When the crunch hit us in 1997-98 Mahathir reduced interest rates to encourage spending. The more you soend the more money there is in circulation and makes the economy better. More spending creates more jobs as demand and supply fight to achieve an equilibrium. Let us look at car sales in 2015:

It looks like the financially-strapped, sand-munching Malaysians had a lot of cockle shells to buy cars! In fact, it was 666,674 cars last year! And if you don’t buy cars, Daim’s master will cry and ask for money from Najib to help his beloved Proton! So why is Dail talking cock?

Next: Spratlys.

Gosh! When Mahathir was the Prime Minister the navies of China and Vietnam fought sea battles. Did we suffer? No. The Spratlys have been a bone of contention for more than half a decade and as claimants get more matured and civilised, why worry? In fact all the countries mentioned have lots to lose in terms of bilateral trades should war break out in this region. Google the contracts they are bidding for and you’ll catch my drift.

Next: credit card fraud.

Let us see what Forbes has to say about this:

Surprise! Surprise! Do you see Malaysia there? Try looking hard and tell me if tou can find the name there. Otherwise just name me the name of neighbours of ours that you see on the list.

Next: we’re number one for perceived corruption.

It’s funny when Daim talks about corruption. Both he and his master are perceived to have benefitted through corruption. You can Google this and you will see information going back to the 1990s talking about this. Perception can never beat the truth. I can say a lot of things if I don’t have to back them up with hard facts. And this is where we stand in terms of corruption in 2015. The higher your ranking is, the less corrupted you are. 165 countries were ranked, let us see where we stand:

Do I need to explain the ranking above?

So when Daim wants you to save, he is asking you to make things worse. Just live within your means. Spend more in Malaysia than abroad. I know thousands can still afford  to go on holidays abroad. Perhaps Daim would prefer you save your money in his banks.

Mahathir’s Lies/Penipuan Mahathir – Part 1

SILA SKROL KE BAWAH UNTUK BAHASA MALAYSIA:

Got up this morning and saw that I was tagged in a Facebook post. Apparently something happened between Mahathir and Najib in July of 2014 that had caused the withdrawal of Mahathir’s support for the PM.

It only confirms the message I received several days ago about how Mahathir had used the rakyat‘s hard cash to satisfy his personal interests:

 1) BNM Forex gambling losses RM30 billion

2) The Perwaja Steel Scandal : RM10 billion

3) Bank Bumiputra Scandal RM10 billion

4) Maminco-Makuwasa Affair RM1.6 Billion

5) Proton losses to Rakyat RM300 billion

6) MAS RM20 billion

 TOTAL RM371.6 billion

The above does not include figures claimed by the Opposition and their supporters that can be found in a book called “Malaysian Maverick” whose author Mahathir has never sued if the contents are untrue. You can read more about this HERE.

I leave you with a video of Part 1 of Mahathir’s lies that you can see by clicking on the link at the bottom of this posting.

———-

1) Kerugian pertaruham pertukaran matawang asing BNM RM30 billion
2) Skandal  Perwaja Steel RM10 billion
3) Skandal Bank Bumiputra RM10 billion
4) Masalah Maminco-Makuwasa RM1.6 Billion
5) Kerugian Proton kepada Rakyat RM300 billion
6) Kerugian MAS RM20 billion
 JUMLAH RM371.6 billion

MAHATHIR’S LIES PART 1/PENIPUAN MAHATHIR BAHAGIAN 1

The Malay Sybarites

This is a bit overdue. With all the “bangang” accusations being thrown to and fro between pro-UMNO bloggers (I was made there are several camps with different paymasters) and the independent pro-BN bloggers, I decided to hold the issue for a while until things have quieten down.  I am not exactly a pro-BN blogger, nor do I have any love for the opposition and their loose coalition, nor that I am a paid blogger as I have never had to use political connections to feed my family in any way whatsoever.  I am the simple nine-to-five, salary-earning employee who watches what goes on around him and voices out once in a while when things are not right.  The “bangangs” then would be those who are chosen by the rakyat to govern on the rakyat’s behalf yet think they can do no wrong and are above criticisms.

The reason for the title above is because people don’t find it bordering on racism if I bash the Malays.  Malay-bashing, in Malaysia, is not racist at all and outsiders (non-Malaysians) are often invited to bash the Malays as well.  Furthermore, being a Malay, it would make me a racist to bash those from my own race.  However, be advised that while what I will write will orbit around the title above, with a broader mental horizon you would be able to see that what follows may also apply to other races.  Of course, to maintain a non-racist post, I shall name my victims collectively as the Malays.

Like it or not, the UMNO of today is a far cry compared to the UMNO people of my age or older were.  I touched on how the late Tun Razak was when it came to shouldering the responsibilities the post of Prime Minister burdened him with.   In my opinion, UMNO was and is still regarded by those who join it as a platform to make money on the pretext of helping the Malays.  Mind you, the same phenomena also exists in other political parties on both sides of the fence.  You would not have seen this in the initial phase of the Barisan Alternatif; you’re seeing this now in the Pakatan-ruled states.  The saying “power corrupts” still holds true.

When one joins UMNO (or any other political party for that matter), it is almost always on the invitation by someone who already is a member.  The new member will first be introduced to the introducer’s circle of “friends” who will have a Padrone, who is either the Branch Head, or the Deputy Branch Head.  Then comes the need to champion whoever the Padrone is in order to put him in place, and make sure the Padrone’s people fill up as many committee posts as possible.  This is then replicated at the Division level.  Getting into the Division’s Padrone’s good books allows one Branch Padrone to solicit small contracts as a Bumiputera Class ‘F’ contractor, which job then gets sub-contracted to (almost always) a non-Bumi contractor.  This simply means that at times, a non-Bumi contractor will become a project-financier, or finance the bid for contracts that are meant for Bumiputera contractors simply because the Malay contractors are a lazy lot and all they want is big bucks for less or no work done.  So, for those who whine about inequality, please bear in mind that the Bumiputeras are only allocated 30 percent while the non-Bumiputeras have 70 percent to grab.  Demographically, 61.4 percent of the population are allocated 30 percent of the opportunities to make wealth while the other 38.6 percent (of which the Chinese make up 24.6 percent) have the 70 percent opportunities to make wealth.

You see the above also happening in the Pakatan-run states albeit with different mechanisms.  Same goal, nevertheless.

Money begets power, and with every party election, more money has to be made in order to retain the power and position to make money – and this is true on both sides of the political fence. Hence, you see absolute nepotism in parties like PKR and DAP, while cronyism remains rife in other political parties.  You have cronies becoming CEOs of important companies; young brats who cannot even make proper presentations.  Then you have the opposition condemning such arrangements as being non-ethical when they themselves do it in government machineries in the states that they control.  What makes it worse are those who continuously condemn the government in public and on social media, yet thrive on servicing government contracts.

Political parties and members no longer lead the monastic way of life as how the political parties and members were back in the 1950s, 1960s and the 1970s.  The uplines, if you must, live lavishly, while their downlines slog to maintain this while trying to earn some crumbs for themselves as religious acolytes would.  I don’t know how UMNO, or any other political party went down the drain this way, but this greed must have predicated on a system that was created perhaps in the late 1980s.  I have not made any mention of PAS because PAS is in a league of its own, abusing religion for its own survival as if it exists to represent God on Earth.

How do we change all this?  In my opinion it would take a miracle for this to change.  As long as the young idolise their sybarite leaders, this country will continue to slide into the cesspool of failed nations.  Perhaps, changing the system would help arrest the rot, but it would take political will to effect change.  And that is where we need miracles!
