Mahathir’s Reformasi

It was a movement to topple the second most-hated dictator of the South East Asia. Tens of thousands would march on the streets of Kuala Lumpur chanting “Undur Mahathir, undur!” and the infamous “Reformasi!” after Anwar Ibrahim was summarily expelled from UMNO and denied a chance for the premiership over reasons Mahathir himself claims to have forgotten or something to that effect.

Leading this group of demonstrators was Anwar’s most loyal lieutenants, Azmin Ali, who was his Principal Private Secretary in the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office. With Anwar still in jail, Azmin is the most favourite choice for Pakatan’s Prime Minister-designate amongst the younger generation.

Or that was what we all thought would happen.

Suddenly, the 92-year old Mahathir manoeuvred his way into being accepted as the Prime Minister again if Pakatan wins the next general elections. DAP and the anti-Azmin camp inside PKR namely Wan Azizah’s camp accepted the nonagenarian but this was rejected by several opposition-friendly NGOs as well as Selangor’s PKR.

Several hints on social media platforms and insiders’ information of Anwar’s opposition to Mahathir being designated as Pakatan’s Prime Minister warranted an article by The Star’s Joceline Tan. The writing is all over the wall – REFORMASI is dead.

In a move seen to insult Mahathir, Azmin offered his Gombak parliamentary seat for Mahathir to contest in in the next general election, an offer rejected outright by the latter.

A leopard never changes its spots – and true to his character, Mahathir announced that he will deal with dissenters quietly – a reminder of his 22-year reign of terror.

Just like Anwar whose colour of underwear was made public for going against Mahathir, Azmin now finds tales of his sexual trysts being made public. We are reminded of the time Anina Saadudin’s steamy WhatsApp messages were made public after falling out with Mahathir’s inner circle.

Anything Azmin is now being attacked, therefore it’s going to be interesting to see how the champion of Reformasi will now go against the man he has been fighting against for the past 20 years.

If he fails, it would be Mahathir’s masterstroke – for killing off the Reformasi movement from inside and finally making it his own Reformasi where dissent can never be tolerated.

Welcome to Mahathir’s Reformasi – or Dictatorship 2.0 as we know it.

Mahathir Finally Seeks Help From Waytha Out There

Today is a historic day for the Malaysian Indian community. The man who for 22 years of his life did nothing to help alleviate their socio-economic status has finally sought help, in the most famous phrase, like from one Indian to another Indian.

After the meeting, HINDRAF chairman P. Waythamoorthy expressed confidence in delivering Indian votes to help Pakatan in GE14.

Of course the Kampung Buah Pala issue has been forgotten and forgiven by Waytha. Let us also look at several other Indian-related issues that Waytha had raised when questioning about Mahathir’s ability to lead Pakatan just a year ago this month.

Last year, Waytha said the displacement of the estate workers was rampant during Mahathir’s leadership and he failed to provide socio-economic reliefs to the 800,000 Indians displaced from the estates.

He ordered the City Councils to demolish the Hindu temples and Hindu grave yards which existed for almost 150 years in the estates.

Also according to Waytha it was Mahathir who caused the serious rise in discrimination against the Non- Malays which has caused racism to be entrenched in the administration of the government and yet he would stand next to Nelson Mandela to declare his anti-apartheid vehemence.

Mahathir’s arbitrary arrests and detentions of many political opponents under the ISA and Official Secrets Act on many occasions especially for his own political survival how he would hone to perfection and use a gamut of archaic repressive laws.

Waytha added that Mahathir’s arrests besides politicians were environmentalists, consumer association spokesmen and also caused the suspension of publication of The Star, The Sunday Star, Watan, Sin Chew Jit Poh under Operasi Lalang.

His interference in the Malaysian Judiciary saw the Chief Justice and several top Federal court judges suspended and sacked. The way he went about colluding with Justice Hamid Omar, a senior Federal Court Judge, tarnished the reputation and the integrity of the judiciary till this day.

In March 1988, he made constitutional amendments to Article 121 and Article 145 which effectively took away the power of the judiciary that was embedded in the constitution and handed it over to Parliament through statutes. The power of judicial review too was removed. Hence he virtually modified the separation of powers where Judiciary was stripped of its independence and power overnight.

Mahathir banned various independent foreign journalists and has records of charging them with various offences.

Yes, Mahathir did all that according to Waytha. And it was just a year ago this month that Waytha was mad at Mahathir for using the term ‘Keling‘ as an inference to the Indians.

Waytha warned Malaysians about Mahathir’s intentions (of making a political comeback):

Politics is more than the eyes could see and the mind could perceive. Should one support him blindly for the sake of removing the present premier and replacing him with another. Politics is a strange and dangerous game.

Waytha must have said millions other things about Mahathir but all has been forgotten in just one meet – in the name of power.

Hopefully Malaysians especially the Indians see how HINDRAF has now gone Waytha out of line.

On A Suicide Watch

A month ago in the aftermath of the Sarawak State Elections, Mahathir remarked that the situation for Barisan Nasional were different in Sarawak compared to the Peninsula. Whilst national issues are natural concerns for the Malayans, Sarawakians were more concerned about their well-being. Nary a day passed without Mahathir campaigning against Najib.

This 91-year old thoroughgoing villain pulled out all the stops to have Najib removed albeit undemocratically even to the extent of cooperating with his political enemies, soliciting help from foreigners to throw baseless allegations and lies, as well as coming up with a nonsensical “Citizens Declaration” that was proven to have false signatures.

In the end, the parliamentary by-elections in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar proved that the voters totally rejected the destructive lies brought forth by Mahathir as well as his attempt to make Muhyiddin the Prime Minister to warm up that seat for his son Mukhriz. The opposition paid a heavy price for jockeying this mule when, despite heavy campaigning, they lost badly to Barisan Nasional and made an ass of themselves. That is the price they paid for aligning themselves with Mahathir thinking it would benefit them. Anwar must be smiling to himself in prison.

In 1905, George Santayana wrote “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Mahathir was a great man but he was a cruel and egotistical dictator nevertheless. He was rejected by his own UMNO division in 2004. Instead of remembering that episode, the opposition chose to ride on Mahathir’s “popularity.”

Unfortunately for them, most of the voters still remember Mahathir’s sins. This played well into BN’s hands where the backroom boys used to engineer the opposition’s downfall. And being the proud and egotistical person that he is, Mahathir refused to recognise that his campaign was disastrous. Instead of saving his “friends,” he dragged PKR, DAP and PAN deep into the hole that he had himself dug.

It’s a bit like a suicide watch…with a twist.

Mahathir’s Lies/Penipuan Mahathir – Part 1

SILA SKROL KE BAWAH UNTUK BAHASA MALAYSIA:

Got up this morning and saw that I was tagged in a Facebook post. Apparently something happened between Mahathir and Najib in July of 2014 that had caused the withdrawal of Mahathir’s support for the PM.

It only confirms the message I received several days ago about how Mahathir had used the rakyat‘s hard cash to satisfy his personal interests:

 1) BNM Forex gambling losses RM30 billion

2) The Perwaja Steel Scandal : RM10 billion

3) Bank Bumiputra Scandal RM10 billion

4) Maminco-Makuwasa Affair RM1.6 Billion

5) Proton losses to Rakyat RM300 billion

6) MAS RM20 billion

 TOTAL RM371.6 billion

The above does not include figures claimed by the Opposition and their supporters that can be found in a book called “Malaysian Maverick” whose author Mahathir has never sued if the contents are untrue. You can read more about this HERE.

I leave you with a video of Part 1 of Mahathir’s lies that you can see by clicking on the link at the bottom of this posting.

———-

1) Kerugian pertaruham pertukaran matawang asing BNM RM30 billion
2) Skandal  Perwaja Steel RM10 billion
3) Skandal Bank Bumiputra RM10 billion
4) Masalah Maminco-Makuwasa RM1.6 Billion
5) Kerugian Proton kepada Rakyat RM300 billion
6) Kerugian MAS RM20 billion
 JUMLAH RM371.6 billion

MAHATHIR’S LIES PART 1/PENIPUAN MAHATHIR BAHAGIAN 1

Truth Prevails

For almost a year now Malaysians and non-Malaysians alike have been fed with the story that both Prime Minister Najib Razak and 1MDB have been doing a mega con job that puts Malaysia at peril.

Exorbitant figures were given and accusations kept flying around that have caused a deficit in trust among Malaysians and eroded the confidence of foreign investors. These figures as well as the goalpost (if there was any) keeps changing every time there is a rebuttal by both Najib and the 1MDB.

Notwithstanding the explanations given Mahathir kept up his attacks on Najib by sending his paid lieutenants to lodge police reports all over the world, colluded with the opposition, created a false perception that Najib would be a wanted man if he travelled overseas, while Mahathir himself met up with Tony Pua of the DAP at the Fullerton and also Sarawak Report’s Claire Rewcastle Brown to open up new battle fronts against Najib.

Even the New York Times, an associate of Syed Mokhtar’s Malaysian Reserve, ran an article in Bahasa Malaysia connecting Jho Low to Najib’s stepson and eventually, Voila! Najib himself! The millions of Malay Americans in the US must have benefitted from that article!

Three days ago the Attorney-General has cleared the 1MDB from any wrongdoing. Although the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has twice recommended for officers of the 1MDB to be charged based on the Exchange Control Act, 1953 which really is about online form-filling and is subjective to BNM’s interpretation of whether the information given is complete or not. In BNM’s words, the charge was that the approvals obtained for the 2013 fund transfers were based on inaccurate or without complete disclosure of material information relevant to BNM’s assessment  of 1MDB’s application.

There was no mention of malicious fraud in the declarations at all; neither was there any mention if missing billions nor of money being laundered.

BNM never made any recommendation based on either the Anti Money Laundering Act,2001, or the Anti Money Laundering and Anti Terrorism Financing Act, 2014 which can only mean one thing – after investigating the transactions made by the 1MDB, there is no basis found for it to be charged under either Act.

This goes to show that Mr Botox, Mr Multi-Religious Hunger Striker who are Mahathir’s paid lieutenants, his well-paid bloggers, the Bruno Manser Fund (Sarawak Report) have all been malicious in trying to destroy the reputation of one man even at the expense of ruining this country by undermining its finances and economy. This tantamounts to terrorism –  acts of persons acting on behalf of, or in connection with, any organisation or individuals which carries out activities directed towards the overthrowing or influencing, by force or violence, of the Yang DiPertuan Agong’s government or any other government de jure or de facto.

Now that his lieutenants have been arrested Mahathir paints the “pariah nation” image onto Malaysia, saying that there is no freedom of speech here despite having said so many malicious things for the longest time.

Lest we forget it was Mahathir himself who, during his 22-year rule by fear, jailed hundreds wrhout trial, orchestrated the removal of two deputy prime ministers, fired a deputy prime minister, fired four ministers, shut down newspapers such as The Star, Watan and the Sin Chew Jit Poh for speaking against him.

And what did the Chief Pariah say last night about his next step against Najib and the 1MDB in spite of all the “all clear” given?

Anything goes for him as long as Najib goes – even if Malaysia goes as well. Even without hard evidence.
