Tagged Again – Six Weird Things About Me

I have been tagged by my darling Fretty Frincess, and I am required to tell about six weird things about myself. So here goes:

1. I Love Heights – I Can Look Down But Not Look Up

I loved jumping out of anything that flies: airplanes, helicopters, microlights…and also off buildings. When I jump off from an aircraft, I love to go into a full dive, travelling at almost 300km/h downwards, than the normal neutral fall of about 196km/h. The best part is, opening my parachute low – usually between 5-7 seconds before I hit the ground. That used to be my therapy for depression.

However, I have been asked to promise not to do this again by two people.

On a high-rise building, I love looking at the ground below, but get weak-kneed looking up at a higher object. I know it’s weird but don’t ask.

2. I Love To Dive Deep And Alone

Most of the time you’ll catch me diving deeper than the recreational limit, often going into decompression dive – and always alone.

I love diving alone.

3. Movies/Songs

I do not listen to malay songs nor do I watch malay movies. I am mostly into English, Thai and Filipino songs from all genre.

4. Wallet

The notes in my wallet are in denomination sequence – always.

5. Tasty Food

I can eat raw garlic with cili boh. I also love jeruk and if you were to buy jeruk from a small sundry shop, I would drink up the acid from the jeruk container.

6. Homely

By nature I hate going out of the house for no solid reason. I can stay in my room for 3 days in a row and not go out.

Now I would like to tag the following:

Ardy

Najib

Hazyr

Ibu

Happy Birthday, Lily, And Congratulations

Lily underwater

I would like to wish Lily a very happy birthday. Lily is from Hazyr’s batch and the first ex-STF blogger I met. She was doing her Open Water Diver course in Perhentian when I met her.

I would also like to announce and congratulate Lily on her forthcoming engagement.

May you be happy always.

Have fun, dive safe.

Self-Dedication Or Self-Destruction?

Heart running on a treadmill

“There is more than meets the eye” – Optimus Prime

There is always that two sides to everything. Good side, bad side; Side A, Side B; Front side, backside.

I have been going to the gym for more than a month now, but I have been resting for almost a week now since injuring my calf muscle in a futsal game played after a strainuous exercise regime I put myself through. On top of that my once dislocated shoulder has acted up again, and I also injured my shoulder blade.

People always tell me it is good to be exercising, but the exercise I do I programmed them in such a way that they would exert my physical limits, leaving only my mind to tell my body to carry on. The kind of training I do would normally render my hypoxic towards the end as there is not enough Oxygen that the blood could carry fast enough throughout the body – and it is always evident when I start yawning in the middle of an exercise and get tunnel vision. It shows that my heart cannot cope with the demand. My muscles would ache for days, and before it could recover, it goes through another torturous regime the next day or day after.

So, let me throw this question back to you: do you think my diligently-followed training schedule is a sign of self-dedication, or is the training regime I programmed is my way of going through a process of self-destruction?

Congrats, Countloon (Finally)

Congratulations is in order for Countloon for his promotion to the rank of Mejar (finally!). I guess after this he would be motivatged to go for an overseas course, sign the PMAT 1/73 to serve another 7 years after the completion of his course, or probably sign on until pencen.

Now Countloon will have to buy me dinner.

Metalized, Mocha, Icecool…you guys are not getting away with it either. I have yet to be treated to dinner for your respective promotion.

The Grilling Of A Partial-Zombie

1.36pm.

The phone rang.

“Honey, what time did you get home last night?”

Oh, oh. Caught with my pants down…literally..as I was in the bathroom when she called.

“About 4 plus,” I stressed.

“Yeah, right. But your blog says something else, Sayang!” she continued.

“Well, don’t believe everything you read on the Net. Very bad influence. Even Minister of Information said not to believe what bloggers write,” I laughed.

“Hmm, you better make sure you’ve had your meal and medicines as per your routine dose at noon….have you taken your medicine?”

I kept quiet. Then she continued with a query that would make any answer of mine self-incriminating.

“Have you had your medicines?”

“It’s gloomy outside,” I changed the subject.

“Honey, it will be even gloomier in this apartment when you sleep here tonight if you do not take good care of yourself,” she scolded. “When are you going to take your food and medicine?”

“I’ll do it now,” I replied quickly.

“You’d better! Otherwise I will spank you!” she replied, then after a brief pause,” On second thought, I better not spank you because you like it when I spank you. I’ll think of something else.”

“Think nice thoughts, Honey,” I laughed. “I’ll take my medicines now.”

It’s 2.19pm now and I still have not budged from this desk.

It rained all evening. Even Roger Wakimoto couldn’t give clear predictions on the weather nowadays. All his pre-2005 theories would have gone out the window by now as the weather continues to go haywire, probably caused by the change in axis tilt of the Earth on Boxing Day 2004.

I had a good dinner with Fretty Frincess. She had just gotten off work, and had brought some work back home as well. We talked about her frustrations, and her intention of not paint anymore. I talked her out of it, giving her encouraging words, talked about her character, the Fretty Frincess I have always known, and to always be herself regardless.

It was a good outing with Fretty Frincess…and the glass of Chardonnay made it even better.

I went back to the condo after dinner. She had prepared me a mug of hot Green Tea. She had already placed the new lamp by the little fountain and it looked absolutely great. I commended her for her arrangement, then I saw that the roses I gave her on her return two days ago are still as fresh as they were then.

Looks familiar...hmmm
Does this look familiar?

We sat and watched TV, well, not really watching, because we were indulging in serious talk. The nice cool breeze with a tinge of fresh water smell made the evening even better. In no time her head was already resting on my chest.

“Honey, do you know that you are so affectionate, and I have to tell you again that you have lovely lips.”

Hmm…well, at least I am not that Ben character from one of Deborah Smith’s novels.

Anyway, before we slept, she made us Hershey’s Goodnight Kisses…although after that I insisted on the real ones.

Happy Birthday, Deepblu

YES!

It’s the Grand Kahuna himself, Mr BuluDalam who has turned a year older. Now that you and I have a common interest which is the exact opposite of what Spazm is doing, I think we should get together-gether more often la.

Happy birthday, bro.

Let’s hit an island soon before I go to Bunaken, Lembeh and Walea. The resort has confirmed the dates for me to go there.

How’s My Middle…Sorry…Right Leg?

SMS dialogue this morning:

She: How’s the leg? Let me know if you need a sinsei.

Me: Still limping slightly but better than last night.

She: Go see a doc pls or are u letting it heal naturally

Me: I’ll just rest today. With enough rest it won’t be so bad over the weekend.

She: Hmmm… Yr movements wld be limited then and i had such huge physical activities planned for the weekend

Me: Okay, I’ll go see the doctor now. But just to reassure u, my middle leg is functioning perfectly.

She: :p

Happy Birthday, Siaw Ling

Siaw Ling and her sis

Happy birthday, Siaw Ling.

I have lots of photos of her, but they’re all on DVD now after I backed up data from my previous notebook. I thought of putting the one of me and her, but for now, this will do.

Siaw Ling is a diver and I have dived with her several times. She is also an eco-activist and is involved in the UK-based Raleigh Expeditions actively, and is currently pursuing her Masters in her field.
