STATEMENT BY PRIME MINISTER NAJIB RAZAK ON PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE REPORT ON 1MDB

Following multiple grave allegations made against 1MDB, such as Tun Mahathir’s claim that 42 billion had gone missing, the Cabinet under my instruction asked the Auditor General in March 2015 to conduct an independent investigation into 1MDB’s financial accounts.

To ensure that this was a transparent process, we also instructed that the findings be passed for review to the Public Accounts Committee – a bi-partisan body that includes opposition parliamentarians.

After an exhaustive process, the PAC has today released a report with its findings to Parliament. This report represents a consensus by the PAC members, and its findings are based on facts and hundreds of hours of reviews and investigations.

I would like to thank the National Audit Department and PAC for producing a comprehensive, conclusive and definitive report.

Having reviewed it, I note that the PAC’s report shows that 42 billion is not missing from 1MDB, as had been alleged by Tun Mahathir.

However, the report has identified weaknesses in 1MDB’s capital structure and management. We will study and act on the report’s recommendations. We must ensure that lessons are learned, and action will be taken if any evidence of wrongdoing is found.

Equally, it is now clear that Tun Mahathir’s allegations against 1MDB have been false. He was motivated by personal interest, not the national interest, and a desire to unseat the government.

We will continue to focus on our economic plan and strengthening the economy – which has continued to show resilience in the face of global challenges.

The PAC has cleared the Prime Minister of any involvement in the 1MDB issues and has clearly stated that it was a governance issue where a former CEO needs further probe done on him.

The PAC also includes Tony Pua, the incorrigible and habitual liar, much like his Squidward friend who was arrested by the police yesterday. Tiny Pee or Little Wee as I would like to call him based on his name Tony Pua Kiam Wee, who is part of the PAC and also signed and agreed to the report, is still trying to hoodwink the public. He is not interested in the truth, he is just bent on destroying the BN through manipulating the public’s perception on the issue.

If I were 1MDB, because the PAC report is already out in the open and is no longer subjected to the OSA, I would start suing big time liars such as Mahathir, Rafizi and Tiny Pee. Then we will see this big liar with Little Wee.

Gone Over The Edge

I love the way people reacted to my previous post. I made no mention of who’s who at the meetings, and I was merely writing about what I was told. The reactions, or over-reactions have been priceless. It wasn’t me who stalked them. They should be more aware of their surroundings. Furthermore not one of the above are a leader of any of the opposition-held states. Unless, as the Malays would say: PERASAN.

The police should also investigate the alledged Pemuda UMNO Whatsapp messages that went flying around recently. Messages can be deleted, but the Whatsapp server still stores them. All that is needed is a number or two, and the whole trail of messages can be retrieved.

All attempts or conspiracies to remove the Prime Minister should be investigated. Not because I am protecting Najib Razak, but the institution of the Prime Minister. The last thing Malaysia needs is a vicious cycle of removals and appointments of Prime Ministers that would totally erode the confidence others still have in this country.

On the economic fundamentals of this country, this is what Abdul Wahid Omar had to say:

Back in 1997/98, Malaysia had international reserves below USD30b sufficient to cover 3.2mths of retained imports. We had trade deficit & corporates were highly geared with many borrowing in USD when their income/assets were in MYR. Now even after the recent outflows, our international reserves is more than 3 times larger at USD96.7b as at 31 July 2015 sufficient to cover 7.6 mths of retained imports.

Our trade surplus reached RM41b for 1st half 2015 notwithstanding the lower oil & commodity prices. And corporates’ balance sheets are much healthier. Our labour market conditions are stable with low unemployment rate of 3%.

Our banks are well capitalised with core Tier1 capital ratios of 12.5%, liquid & with good asset quality where net impaired loans ratio is at a low of 1.2%. Banks & financial system are well regulated & supervised by BNM. Our fiscal position continues to improve with budget deficit reducing from 3.4% of GDP in 2014 to a target of 3.2% in 2015. We are still on track to achieve GDP growth of between 4.5% to 5.5% this year. That’s what I meant by strong economic fundamentals.

Selling Malaysia For RM6,000 Only

Thai police: Justo met with Msian opposition leader, media tycoon 16 JULY 2015 @ 4:46 PM BY ADRIAN

BANGKOK: Thai police today confirmed that Swiss citizen Xavier Andre Justo met with a very important person from a Malaysian opposition party before selling classified information belonging to Saudi oil company PetroSaudi International. Royal Thai Police Commissioner of Officer of Information and Communication Technology Lt Gen Prawut Thavornsiri told the New Straits Times here that Justo, a former PetroSaudi director, admitted to meeting the opposition leader at a hotel in Singapore. He however declined to name the individual. Under Thai law, a person cannot be named prior to a warrant of arrest. “He (Justo) met a very important person from a certain country, in Singapore. He then negotiated the selling price of the documents and later sold them to the buyer.” Prawut later disclosed that the individual was from an opposition party in Malaysia. He also said Justo admitted that he met with a media tycoon at the same location in Singapore. He declined to name the media tycoon. “We have confiscated Justo’s personal computer and we have managed to find documents and information pertaining to their meeting at a hotel in Singapore. “Most of these information was found from Justo’s email correspondence and WhatsApp chat records.” He said immigration and hotel records gathered by Thai police corroborated Justo’s account of the meeting. He said Justo had also admitted to blackmailing his former employer, PetroSaudi International, and will be charged under Thai law for extortion and blackmail. Prawut however said Justo denied having tampered with documents that were eventually sold to a certain news outlet in Europe. “He didn’t make any changes to the documents and sent the original documents (to the buyer) as digital copies.” When asked if he had sold the documents to London-based whistleblower website Sarawak report, Prawut declined to elaborate. “Everyone knows which news organisation I am talking about,” he said. Justo has been under Thai police custody since his arrest late last month after he allegedly stole thousands of emails and documents from Petro Saudio, and tried to blackmail his former employer. He moved to Thailand after he was terminated from the company. Thai police are investigating how, after leaving the company, Justo issued a series of blackmail demands for 2.5 million Swiss francs (approximately RM9.9 million). PetroSaudi did not meet Justo’s demand. Then in February this year, doctored and tampered versions of the emails suddenly started to appear on Sarawak Report, sparking a political row implicating 1Malaysa Development Bhd (1MDB) and Malaysian leaders.

The above is the report filed by the New Straits Times on the Justo-1MDB saga that has all but paralysed the Najib administration. That report coupled with Lester Melanyi’s confession as reported by Rocky Bru shows how pathetic some people could get just so they could satisfy their sick agenda.

Clare Rewcastle Brown is never a name you could trust as evident in this blog post by Winifred Poh. With a negative track record that is surpassed only by Paul Joseph Goebbels’s, Brown’s Sarawak Report has only produced nothing short of pure cow dung for lack of a better description. Yet, Mahathir chose to believe her and continued to use her to fulfill his thirst for rule-by-proxy. Apparently 34 years of being in power isn’t enough for him.

Najib’s administration isn’t without fault. The deafening silence at the point whence this whole saga began helped fed the negative perception the public now has and is reluctant to let go of. Damaging would be an understatement. It is understandable that not much could be said about the deals the 1MDB is or was involved in considering the Financial Services Act as well as the various Non-Disclosure Agreements it is party to, but some formof communication to the public would have helped allay some fears regarding the issue.

To make matters worse, some Cabinet members even publicly declared their ignorance of the issue – a lame effort to try distance themselves from Najib should the latter fall. What is more disgusting is the act by some of the younger members of UMNO who were said to have helped make viral of some videos online and even discussed on what steps were to be taken to help speed up Najib’s downfall. This is the quality of the loyalty of people we now have, not just in UMNO, but in Malaysian politics in general. Values have been traded off for the power to fill up their pockets.

There has also been “power breakfasts” and “power lunches” organised by people close to Mahathir that invited bloggers and key UMNO office holders to entice them to call for Najib’s resignation. I have seen Facebook photos of “friends” attending these events. The revelation made by the Deputy UMNO Petaling Jaya Utara Chief, Mohamad Azli Mohemed Saad, on TV not too long ago on being invited to such events reinforced the fact that these events are or were real. Whatever happened to democracy within UMNO? Why resort to such tactics? These events must be investigated further by the police and the MACC in case of bribes bejng given for such support, and also for undermining the government and wanting to remove a government through undemocratic means. This include the politicians mentioned in the above police report. Tony Pua has got no excuse to further remain as part of the PAC.

The authorities should also investigate the various bloggers and socmed practitioners who helped amplified and conjure more false “facts” that had helped paint a bleak picture of Malaysia, of Najib’s administration so much so that Malaysia’s economy has been affected. Imagine foreign government officials asking our diplomats if it was safe for potential investors to invest in Malaysia – and all these for just RM6,000 a month? Id I am allowed to coin a term for such people I would call them “economic terrorists” and not just saboteurs. I implore to the authorities to haul in these people and charge them the maximum for their despicable acts.

I hope the Thai authorities will also issue arrest warrants to the ten individuals they have discovered in the article above.

As I have said before, let the audit and investigation teams do their work without any pressure or influence from any party. Members of the special task force whom had leaked investigation information must be expelled from the service. The rakyat should not be made to pay the wages of thise who cannot keep the trust put to them.

As for members of the general public, the interim report issued by the Auditor-General has shown that 1MDB had not digressed from guidelines and other legal requirements. In mmy opinion, this is a good enough reason for us all to move on until the final report comes out later in the year to comment on the governance of the 1MDB deals.

The whole of Ramadhan was tarnished by the lies put forth by unscrupulous people. Let us use this Syawal to reflect upon our deeds that have caused all of us Malaysians to suffer – and all for just RM6,000 a month which is a bigger value for some than the price of the nation.

Firstly, I do not know who gave the title “Constitutional Expert” to Professor Aziz Bari. The fact that he used to lecture at the law faculty of the International Islamic University does not make him one. It is like saying every soldier is a demolitions expert. However, everyone can safely deduce that he leans more towards Pakatan Rakyat, especially PKR, politically.

Probably every Tom, Dick and Harry might have responded to Aziz Bari’s claim that the Sultan of Selangor has no right to ask for more names for the latter to choose as the next Menteri Besar of Selangor. He said this as reported by Malaysiakini’s Pakar: Sultan Tiada Kuasa Minta Banyak Nama (27th August 2014). In his statement, Aziz said that in a Parliamentary system, the (state) government is responsible to the state assembly, not to the Sultan. He added that the Sultan only has to agree to appoint the candidate with the most support in the state assembly as the Menteri Besar.

“Majority,” he said to Malaysiakini, “is the only (appointment) criteria, therefore the Sultan has no right to request for more names since there is already majority.”

Perhaps our “Constitutional Expert” does not know much on the history behind the Constitution. The Rulers may be Constitutional Monarchs but ours is not the same as the Westminster Monarch that they have in England. In England, the monarchy was reinstated with the installation of King Charles II by Parliament after the failure of Oliver Cromwell’s Republic that followed the decapitation of King Charles I. All laws are passed by Parliament without the Queen’s Consent (or King’s Consent if the Ruler of England is male) save for four things: bills affecting the royal prerogative (whatever the royal prerogatives are, are quite shady due to the nature of the uncodified Constitution in England). The second is bills affecting the hereditary revenues of the Duchy of Lancaster or the Duchy or Cornwall. Third, bills affecting the personal property of the monarch, and lastly, bills affecting the “personal interests” of the monarch.

To understand the role of the Rulers in Malaysia one must take several steps back in the history of this nation. The mistake made by the government since those days is to instill the spirit of nationalism into every Malaysian. The simplest way is to say that we were colonised by the British, and that we gained independence for them – which would only be true for Pulau Pinang, Melaka and Singapore. When Malaya gained “independence” only Pulau Pinang and Melaka rejoined Malaya while Singapore remained a British colony. The British were here by virtue of the various treaties made with the respective Malay rulers. British advisers were appointed and were paid by the Sultan who appointed them to administer the state on behalf of the Sultan. They basically administered everything except for matters that affected Islam and the Malay customs, which remained the Sultan’s sole prerogative. When the British administration left in 1957, this role was taken over by the Menteri Besar and the state executive assembly that form the administration part of the state government through elections. The executive power remains with the Sultan. This is evident in Article 181(1) of the Federal Constitution that says:

“Subject to the provisions of this Constitution,” the “sovereignty, prerogatives, powers and jurisdiction of the Rulers…as hitherto had and enjoyed shall remain unaffected.”

The same was noted by Mark R Gillen of the Faculty of Law, University of Victoria (Gillen 1994:7). In the words of the late Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, former Lord President, it is:

“a mistake to think that the role of a King, like that of a President, is confined to what is laid down by the Constitution, His role far exceeds those constitutional provisions” (Azlan Shah 1986:89)

On Aziz Bari’s claim that the (state) government is answerable to the state assembly and not to the Sultan, may I remind Aziz Bari that in Article 50 of the Selangor Constitution, 1959, it says;

“The executive authority of the State shall be vested in His Highness and exercisable, unless otherwise provided by the Federal Constitution or this Constitution, by him or by the State Executive Council or any member of the State Executive Council authorised by the State Executive Council, byt executive functions may by law be conferred on other persons or authorities.”

You cannot form a government without the consent of the Sultan; hence the need for the Menteri Besar and members of the Executive Council to take an oath of office before the Sultan to administer the State on behalf of the Sultan.

On Aziz Bari’s claim that the Sultan is only to appoint as Menteri Besar whoever has the support of the majority in the state assembly, Aziz Bari should go back to where he read law and ask for his money back. The Selangor State Constitution explicitly states in Articles 51 and 53(2) that the appointment of the Menteri Besar is the prerogative of the Sultan. The person to be appointed as Menteri Besar is a person, IN HIS MAJESTY’S JUDGMENT is likely to command the confidence of the majority of the members of the Assembly. Therefore it is right for His Royal Highness to ask for more than two names to be submitted by each political party that has the majority command of the state assembly.

The same happened in Terengganu when UMNO wanted Idris Jusoh to continue on as the Menteri Besar after the 2008 General Election but the Sultan overruled and insisted on Ahmad Said instead.

The above is the form of democracy with the Sultan having the right to choose whom to head the executive branch of his government to administer the state on His Majesty’s behalf. What is not democratic is Rafizi Ramli’s instruction to Selangor State Assemblymen under PKR except Wan Azizah and Azmin Ali to decline if nominated as the Menteri Besar by the other parties.

This is to choose a state government FOR THE PEOPLE, not for PKR. Rafizi should just shut up and hide behind his boss, while Aziz Bari ought to ask for his law school fees back, find a better law school and stop this masquerade.

I am surprised that the Menteri Besar’s new allowance is also being questioned. Yet no one is interested to ask why has the allowance for the Speaker as well as ADUNs also gone up at the same time; mind you both Menteris Besar in-waiting, Wan Azizah and Azmin Ali also benefited from this increase.

Talking about Wan Azizah, it has definitely been more than 100 days since she “won” the Kajang seat. What promise has she fulfilled or begun to fulfill? Apart from being that puppet she has been since 1999, and reportedly being a punching bag for whoever it was that made her fled to her sisters house in November 1993 or around about that and calling up four people seeking their help, what has she done?

There has also never been any show-cause letter to Azmin for that press conference stunt he made when someone reportedly broke a certain promise made to him if Selangor is retained by the Pakatan Rakyat during the GE13?

Why is there also no show-cause letter issued to Elizabeth Wong who reportedly fought tooth and nail to wipe out notions that Selangor was going to run out of water come 2014?

PKR is a big fat joke. During its conception in September 1998, it was about fighting for a man who claimed he was wrongfully dismissed.

Now in 2014, it is fighting to dismiss a man wrongfully.

A big fat joke PKR is.

Khalid should just dissolve the state assembly and mean business. It would shut his opponents up.

PKR: The Big Fat Joke

Whoever controls water supply, wins the war. And Muslim soldiers based in Madinah went to war during the Battle of Badr with the Meccans by first denying the latter access to water supply.

In the modern world, water is costly to produce but yields great returns to those who control it. For that reason, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is confident it could unseat itself in Selangor and win Selangor.

The whole fracas began with the incumbent Menteri Besar, Khalid Ibrahim, making a deal with the Federal government for improving treated-water supply and the supply of raw water from Pahang to Selangor via the Langat 2 project. There is money to be made, therefore everyone wants to lay their hands on Selangor’s water assets despite the dwindling supply of treated water. Khalid received flak from his PKR counterparts for making the deal while Selangor voters were fuming mad over the water rationing despite assurances made by the Selangor state government that there would be enough water supply until 2019, and PAS claimed it would be sufficient until 2022.

Immediately after, Anwar Ibrahim via Rafizi Ramli, initiated the “Kajang Move”, a bid to oust Khalid and appoint Anwar as the Menteri Besar. Fate had it that Anwar was sentenced to a five-year imprisonment for committing sodomy. Enter Wan Azizah, his subservient wife, to contest on behalf of him and again to serve as his seat-warmer. The reason given was Wan Azizah could serve Kajang voters better, an unintentional hint that the Kajang voters were given a short-changed candidate by PKR in the 13th General Elections. Wan Azizah initially said that her becoming a state assemblywoman has nothing to do with the plans to oust Khalid as the Menteri Besar, but of course only idiots believed that.

So, now it is a free-for-all scramble for the Menteri Besar post with the embattled Khalid stuck in the middle of it all. Azmin Ali, Anwar’s lieutenant and Principal Private Secretary to Anwar when he was a Finance Minister, feels that he is the most capable person to govern Selangor. However, I was told that Rafizi as well as non-Malay representatives in PKR, as well as Selangor DAP representatives believe that Azmin is an UMNO person at heart (strangely they also say Khalid is an UMNO agent but still picked him as the Menteri Besar) and should not be allowed to become the MB.

Today, we see letters coming out from the various PKR camps championing both Azmin Ali or Wan Azizah on the other side as the most suitable candidate to become the MB. Below is the letter from the supporters of Azmin:

Meanwhile, Khalid Ibrahim was issued a show-cause letter giving him only three days to reply to asking why should they not remove him for going against party directives:

While this circus show is taking place, the former mining pools used to provide water to the Selangor river dam are quickly running dry, with the dam level close to 30 percent of its capacity, a mandatory rationing level.

PKR is a big fat joke, and the only Keadilan they are fighting for is to fatten up their pockets. And PKR is championing the exact thing Anwar claimed to have fought against: Nepotism and Cronyism.

Mother of Pendedahan

Rafizi Ramli, the so-called strategist for PKR must be scraping the bottom for issues to play in the run-up to the general elections that he decided it would be a big thing to expose Rosmah Mansor, Najib Razak’s wife’s unpaid traffic summons.

You open a can of worms, you will get exactly that. Let us take, for example, these two phantom voters who registered themselves as voters using my friend’s house address. They are none other than Anwar Ibrahim and Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Rafizi’s political employers.

Now, make a few SMS using the identity card numbers obtained…first for Anwar Ibrahim:

Wow! That’s a heck lot more than Rosmah’s that have gone unpaid! Now, let us check his “wife”.

Holy crap! That is a whole lot of law-breaking exercise for someone who fights for justice! No wonder PKR is so against the implementation of the AES! Now, what about Rafizi Ramli, the BAPA PENDEDAHAN himself?

One word of advice for Rafizi: mKe sure you cover your ass before you want to hit someone else in the back! But knowing which party and leader he represents, I find it as no surprise that he goes around shooting butt-naked!
