Happy Aidil Fitri

I am the only Malaysian Muslim still at work in this office today. The rest are already on leave. It’s been a hectic day. I was sneezing non-stop that it took two 10mg Piriton tabs to knock me out (it didn’t stop the sneezing, though). My shoulders ache, probably after effects of mowing the lawn last Saturday.

This Aidil Fitri the family will be incomplete. My daughters Farhanah and Fazira are in their mother’s hometown in Kedah this year. My step-daughter Syafiqa looked bored yesterday, probably missing her step-sisters. My son Farhan keeps asking for his sisters.

And as I was on the way to the office, the security company called up informing me that my house alarm had gone off. So I rushed back, crowbar in hand, entered the house in KILL MODE. Nothing. The alarm might have scared the perpetrator(s) off.

Well, for all you muslims and non-muslims alike, have a happy Aidil Fitri, may God bless us all, and make this world a merrier place for us to live in.

Selamat Menyambut Aidil Fitri

Lost for choice…

You're my INSPIRATION

Ever since I used the INSPIRATION CCR, I’ve been dreaming of doing an actual CCR course, and purchasing my own CCR. I am torn between buying a breand new Sports KISS CCR, or a second-hand INSPIRATION CCR. I wish Erik or Xavier can help me out here.

Financing such an equipment is another issue. If my brand new KISS or second hand INSPIRATION is gonna cost me RM18,000.00, I’d better have the same amount to keep the wife happy.

Parasites

Watch this person!!
This is a mammal intestine tapeworm. This species occurs mainly in rabbits, cats, and rodents, but sometimes humans.

The adult tapeworm you see above has a “scolex” with suckers and hooks that anchor to the intestinal wall of the host. While the tapeworm grows in the host’s intestine, body segments called proglottids bud off its head and neck regions. Tapeworms have no digestive system of their own, but absorb through their skin partially digested food from the host’s intestine. It causes diarrhea, weight loss and abdominal discomfort. Adult tapeworms may grow 5-10 meters in length.

Some human beings though, behave like this parasite, causing nausea, heartache, anger, and can breakup communities. It feeds on the generosity of others while telling its host sob stories that will enable the parasite to feed of whatever the host earns. An adult human parasite can grow up to 1.80 meters in height.

Mars Will Swing By Close Again

Mars Attack! For the second time in 60,000 years, Mars will swing by close to Earth again this weekend. This time it will be 43.1 million miles away (as compared to its 35 million-mile distance in 2003), and will appear as a brilliant ball just above the horizon. Its closest pass will be at 10.25am Malaysian time on Sunday.

Mars and Earth are normally separated by about 140 million miles, and will not be this close again until 2018.

Almost a week ago to the day..

Last week, members of the Malaysia Diving Community organised an underwater wedding for two of its members who married each other. It was a moving experience for the bride, Kit (handle: csi) that she shed tears of happiness. 30 members were there altogether. The groom, Mervyn (handle: hilk) was his usual cool self.

Rest Well, First Lady

The loving couple as they were and always been

At 7.55am (UTC +8) today, Datin Seri Endon Mahmood passed on, leaving behind her loving husband, Datuk Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, the Prime Minister of Malaysia; a daughter and a son.

The Narcaholic team conveys its deepest sympathies to the family for the lost of their loved one.

May Allah bless her soul and may she rest in peace.

National Shark Management Plan

The Director-General of the Malaysian Fisheries Department announced recently that the department will be tabling the National Shark Management Plan with aim to protect sharks in Malaysian waters. Currently, only the Whale Shark is being protected in the Fisheries Act, 1985. The DG related how disgusted he is at seeing the pictures of carcasses of sharks that drowned after being finned by fishermen and dumped back into the sea to drown.

I must congratulate the DG and I hope that his department is serious in enforcing this act.
