Tokong Lim Guan Eng torpedoed Pakatan’s claim in December 2011 when the submarine he was inside DIVED into the depths of the Strait of Melaka. He was on board for 90 minutes (pic courtesy of BigDog)Now that I have your attention on the Scorpene issue that U-Turn Mahathir has conveniently forgotten (like the PKFZ issue and others), let me take you down memory lane to tell you more about the whole issue. There will be a few corrections pertaining to the timeline as per the previous posting.
Everyone who talks about the Scorpene deal talks about Abdul Razak Baginda and a company called Perimekar Sdn Bhd that supposedly had gotten millions of Ringgits in kickbacks pertaining to the submarine deal.
The original proponents of the Malaysian submarine program were Mokhzani Mahathir and Ibrahim Mohd Noor (who was then then CEO of newly-listed BERNAS, acting on behalf of Daim Zainuddin). They proposed the German Type 212 (an Air-Independent Propulsion version of the Type 209 design) through a company called…wait for it…Perimekar Sdn Bhd, then operating drom a bungalow in Jalan Lembah Ledang off Jalan Semantan in Kuala Lumpur.
However, in 1999 the then-Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), Admiral Tan Sri Abu Bakar Jamal convinced the then Prime Minister (guess who) at the Avillion Layang-Layang Resort for a submarine program purchasing a very capable submarine.
The Prime Minister bought the idea when Admiral Abu Bakar said, to the effect of, “Imagine we (the RMN) could operate in stealth as far as the Sea of Japan and the North Indian Ocean, without anyone finding out.” The green light was given then.
Sometime in September 2001, the ownership of Perimekar Sdn Bhd was transferred to the Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) through Boustead Bhd’s special purpose vehicle called Ombak Laut Sdn Bhd. The Board of Directors of Perimekar Sdn Bhd then were Rear Admiral (Rtd) Hussin Tamby and Mazlina Makhzan, Abdul Razak Baginda’s wife.
The company, together with officials from the RMN sifted through more than 17,000 pages (28 volumes) of technical documents of the Scorpene. After this point, as mentioned in my previous posting, the Secretary-General of Treasury took over the final commercial negotiations. MINDEF, Perimekar et al no longer had any role to play.
The deal to purchase two Scorpene-type submarines from DCNS and Thales was inked in June 2002, when the then-Prime Minister was also the Finance Ministry who would have given the final approval for the procurement. It was signed by all the relevant parties at the Ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.
The Ministry of Finance was represented by the Secretary-General of Treasury Tan Sri Samsuddin Hitam while LTAT was represented by Dato’ Lodin Wok Kamaruddin.
The consideration for the deal was partly in kind – export of palm oil to France. The final consideration of the deal came from a condition laid by the Ministry of Transport which the French agreed to the day before the deal was inked – for Malaysia Airlines to get the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th landing rights at the Charles de Gaulle (CDG) in Paris.
So, now you know the story behind the Scorpene. Now you know why it is impossible for anyone involved to forget the deal that was made 15 years ago.
Anyone who does forget should not be in politics as it could be a sign of a deterioration of the brain function. And these persons should remember Allah before he finally forgets Who Allah Is.
You know the next general election is going to be a dirty one when old issues are brought back ad infinitum despite being repeatedly shot down.
The latest issue that is being brought back is of the Royal Malaysian Navy’s Scorpene deal. Two portals, Free Mischief Today and Malaysian Incite published a report yesterday claiming that Abdul Razak Baginda has been charged in a French court.
A quick search by a friend found no such news from AFP.

I find it impossible that such a big thing never made it into a little column on the AFP portal.
Today, U-Turn Mahathir revealed that the purchase of the Scorpene was never discussed in any cabinet meeting. It was reported again by Malaysian Incite. Perhaps the Big Chief of that portal had had too much during happy hours with Tokong.
Anyway, Mahathir can fool the youngsters like Pribumi’s Ketua Amanda, Syed Sajat. Other more matured people would know the truth.
The green light for the purchase of the Scorpene was given by the Prime Minister and Finance Minister back in 1995. I’ll leave it to you to name them. The negotiations were conducted according to defence procurement contracts procedures.
Included in this contract was the purchase of a former French Navy submarine (which is now a museum in Melaka) that would act as a training platform for Malaysian’s submariners for four years.
The final commercial committee was headed by the Secretary-General of Treasury who submitted the report of the acquisition. At this point, the Ministry of Defence was no longer involved.
Not too long ago Al Jazeera interviewed U-Turn Mahathir. In the interview Mahathir told all sorts of lies about the politico-economic situation of Malaysia. Among the things he said was:
“Malaysia will go to the dogs.”
Many disagreed and wondered why, that despite the good showing of economic growth, concurred by the world’s economic institutes, Mahathir said that Malaysia is now as doomed as when he was at the helm.
Mahathir’s 22 years of plundering the nation including allowing the Bank Negara to come to the brink of collapse during his tenure is now being investigated by a Royal Commission of Inquiry and the man is desperate to put the stops to it as it could lead him to become the oldest conman to be jailed.
Even PONY TUA, DAP MP for Petaling Jaya U-Tua wrote about Mahathir’s practice of cronyism once upon a time. Of course like the good Christian PONY TUA is, this is swept under the Pakatan carpet.
Mahathir has hinted that he might have to become Prime Minister again – a very scary thought. Almost all of us remember what it was like during his time to blog and be sent to Kamunting under detention without trial..
He covered that up later by naming a few people as potential Pakatan Prime Ministers including the useless Mat Sabu whose job in Pakatan is nothing more than to promote the “Planet of the Apes” franchise as well as hugging Chinese girls. Something he could not do when he was in PAS.
Mat Sabu for PM
We all know that Mahathir knows only he is fit to become a Pakatan Prime Minister. He never stopped becoming the Prime Minister or power-broker until Najib Razak put a stop to it. And he is incensed by that.
Although he did not name himself a Prime Minister again, he has again hinted as being the person most qualified for the job. He is now Pakatan’s TOP DOG!
Whatever it is, Mahathir claims to be the Top Dog. And he did say to Al Jazeera that the country will go to the dogs. We know now which dog and pack he was referring to.
And with Mahathir as the Top Dog, Malaysia will be in for another round of screwing.
“Was this an inadvertent snub to Mahathir? After all, the British are known to have a wicked sense of humour.
Thatcher and Mahathir had little in common. Their acquaintance started by air-craft landing rights disputes, the dawn raid on Guthrie companies in the London stock exchange, the tin corner scandal and university fee increases for Malaysian students to the UK. Despite Mahathir’s “Buy British Last” call, he conducted secret deals with Thatcher which culminated in the Pergau Dam scandal.
Thatcher, despite her unpopularity, was quick to defend those territories under British control. Her decision to send troops to defend the Falkland Islands in 1982 against an Argentinian invasion, and the subsequent British victory, made her a hero and instilled patriotism.
The same cannot be said of a prime minister who gave out several hundred thousand identity cards to foreigners, in Sabah, in exchange for votes.
British prime ministers like Thatcher, rarely interfere in politics once they have retired from public office. Mahathir has remained active in politics to the detriment of the caretaker prime minister.
Both Thatcher and Mahathir had humble origins with fathers who told them to work hard to succeed. On her resignation, Thatcher made millions, legitimately, from giving public lectures on both the local and international circuits.
Mahathir is allegedly a multi-billionaire and his children have benefited from allegedly dodgy deals emanating from his time as prime minister.
During Thatcher’s funeral, the Bishop of London, Richard Chartres, gave a sermon in which he related the story of a nine-year-old boy, David Liddelow, who had written to Thatcher about Jesus. David asked Thatcher, “Last night when we were saying prayers, my daddy said everyone has done wrong things except Jesus. I said I don’t think you have done bad things because you are the prime minister. Am I right or is my daddy?”
Thatcher was known for her ability to reach out to the young and she replied to say that David had posed a “difficult question” but that she would “try to answer it”.
In a handwritten letter she said, “However good we try to be, we can never be as kind, gentle and wise as Jesus. There will be times when we do or say something we wish we hadn’t done and we shall be sorry and try not to do it again…
“As prime Minister, I try very hard to do things right and because Jesus gave us a perfect example I try even harder. But your father is right in saying that we can never be as perfect as He was.”
Contrast this with a letter written by another 10-year-old English boy, Darrel Abercrombie, to Mahathir in 1987. The letter has been mentioned in articles in “The Star” and “Sin Chew Jit Poh”. Darrel had requested Mahathir to stop logging activities in Malaysia because he wanted to study animals in the tropical rainforests when he grew up.
In a lengthy three-page typed document, Mahathir said: “It is disgraceful that you should be used by adults for the purpose of trying to shame us because of our extraction of timber from our forests.
“The timber industry helps hundreds of thousands of poor people in Malaysia. Are they supposed to remain poor because you want to study tropical animals? Is your study more important than filling the stomachs of poor people? Are Malaysians expected to lose millions of pounds so that you can study animals?
“If you don’t want us to cut down our forests tell your father to tell the rich countries like Britain to pay more for the timber they buy from us… I hope you will tell the adults who made use of you to learn all the facts. They should not be too arrogant and know how best to run a country…”
When I first set my eyes upon the photo above late last month, I thought of individual monologues based on the body language shown by the individuals in the photo.
Lim Kit Siang: “I am only holding this up because I will need the support of the Malays in PKR.”
Mahathir: “Anwar as the 7th PM? No way, Jose!”
Azmin: “I don’t really want to put this up but I need the party to vote me for the top post.”
Wan Azizah: “Better him than me. I am clueless most of the time!”
The above photo is the perfect depiction of how the Opposition front is in a disarray. Each of the parties in the Pakatan Harapan want to become the Big Brother. PKR believes that it has what it needs to lead the coalition; Pribumi believes that it should have the lead role as it has a former Prime Minister as well as a former Deputy Prime Minister (and throw in a former Menteri Besar who did virtually nothing for the state he governed); while the DAP knows that it is the Kingmaker in the coalition, and no matter who becomes the Pakatan’s PM, they call the shots.
However, if those above were actually sincerely hoping for Anwar Ibrahim to become the next Prime Minister, they would be utterly disappointed as Anwar had recently announced the removal of himself as the coalition’s PM candidate. The announcement leaves the race to become the Pakatan’s Prime Minister candidate to just two persons – Azmin Ali, PKR’s current Deputy President and Menteri Besar of Selangor, and U-Turn Mahathir, a former Prime Minister who stepped down but now misses the power that comes with the seat.
Wan Azizah does not come close to being the person either Azmin or Mahathir are.
But what of Lim Kit Siang?
Lim Kit Siang is the de facto father of the Opposition, no matter by what name you call it. Although he declared that he is not interested in the post of the Prime Minister, everyone knows that he does not have to be in the seat to actually rule the country. Nizar Jamaluddin, the JKR engineer who once went on to become Perak’s Menteri Besar, contested on PAS’s ticket but became the MB because his mother is related to Perak DAP henchmen Ngeh Koo Ham and Nga Kor Ming. Through Nizar, the DAP managed to get things done its way, including giving leasehold land to Chinese New Villages inhabitants for 999 years!
Although Kit Siang is just a member of the DAP’s Central Executive Committee and nothing more, he is the hidden hand behind the CEC and especially his son, Lim Guan Eng (Tokong) who is the party’s Secretary-General.
Lim Kit Siang is known to use whatever means at his disposal to make sure he stays in power.
Those born in the mid-1970s and onwards may not have heard of the name Goh Hock Guan. He was the DAP Secretary-General who was involved in a power tussle with Kit Siang.
Hock Guan, who was also the Selangor DAP Chairman, wanted to field Lau Dak Kee in the Ulu Selangor by-election but Kit Siang favoured (now Tan Sri) Lee Lam Thye.
The repeat of this was in Johor during the 13th General Elections where Kit Siang and Tokong pushed aside then-state DAP Chairman Boo Cheng Hau and fielded their minions in order to hold on to power.
Kit Siang’s next move was to expel Hock Guan from the party. Others who were expelled included Dr Soarian, Chan Teck Chan, Seow Hun Khin, Chin Nyuk Soo and Goh Lin Eam.
Goh Hock Guan, in his letter to Cheng Man Hin, said,
“I don’t want to have any relationship with Lim Kit Siang. We’re totally adverse in terms of viewpoints and personality. As long as Kit Siang is holding the position as the Secretary-General of the DAP, he would definitely and finally destroy the future of DAP.”
Lee Lam Thye was made the Deputy Secretary-General but without power nor authority. Under Kit Siang’s orders, Lam Thye was not allowed to give views nor comments of any dissatisfaction. But he had an impeccable record of service to his constituency, and this threatened Kit Siang’s position.
On 29 September 1990, Lee Lam Thye dropped a bombshell announcing his departure from the DAP. He said,
“A few leaders had hurt me from behind…I can’t stand anymore.”
After Lam Thye’s resignation, Lim Kit Siang issued a gag-order on the DAP ordering all party members to ‘shut-up’, avoiding giving any statement, view or statement through the media.
Lee Lam Thye certainly has a better life outside Kit Siang’s DAP
Azmin Ali may be the star of PKR but he does not have the support of the leadership. It is no secret that he has no love whatsoever for Wan Azizah and her camp.
Dubbed as the UMNO-man in PKR, I doubt that Azmin would make it to the Prime Minister’s seat as long as there still are those who are opposed to him.
And I also doubt his ability to rein them in onto his side.
This leaves us with the Gollum who still yearns for his precious seat.
At 92, many think that he is too old to be returning to the Premiership. He doesn’t think so. Even with a protem Pribumi President, he thinks that only he is fit to lead the nation he dumped in 2003.
Which is why despite concerns he has twice hinted that the next Prime Minister for Malaysia is him.
We all know what kind of a PM he was, and we all know putting him and Kit Siang side-by-side, they are actually one of a kind. Both are fighting for the survival of their dynasty while current PKR’s reason for struggle has not changed since 1998 – Anwar Ibrahim’s freedom and nothing else beyond that.
Wan Azizah has already announced after Anwar’s bombshell announcement that the Pakatan should concentrate on winning the next general elections before thinking of who is to become the PM.
Wan Azizah’s absurd comment
That is as absurd as saying let us get in the car and then we decide where to go on a holiday. Everybody wants to know who will become the PM if they let you win. Having said that, you do not need to have a brain if you are Wan Azizah
Although time is running out for him, Mahathir has no problem working with arch enemy Kit Siang as long as he gets to become PM again.
Maybe all he wants is to die in office. That way he stays No.1 till kingdom come. Who doesn’t want a send-off fit for a Pharaoh? So, in the meantime, wishing the 7th PM Selamat Hari Raya, whoever you may be.
The above is an extract from an interview of a psychopathic and delusional old man by the Nikkei Asian Review yesterday. He said that he had never abused his power when he was the Prime Minister.
If you have a copy of Barry Wain’s ‘Malaysian Maverick‘ you can see the list of abuses that Mahathir had done during his premiership. And those are only the ones that Mr Wain had discovered.
Time Magazine quoted an economist at Morgan Stanley in Singapore as saying that the country might have lost as much as US$100 billion since the early 1980s to corruption. Under Mahathir’s 22 years term, there were monetary losses amounting to over at least hundred of billions of Ringgit and this excluded those unaccounted for, and irretrievable.
Another politician, Syed Husin Ali, whose party is now worshipping Mahathir said, “Petronas has neither been fully transparent nor accountable with how it spends its money, especially in aiding and abetting Tun Mahathir to indulge in unproductive construction of mega projects, to bail out ailing crony companies and corporate figures, and to involve itself in excessive and wasteful spending on celebrations and conferences.”
For the record, Mr Wain has never been sued by Mahathir. Neither has Mahathir’s foe-turned-best friend Lim Kit Siang been sued for his remarks on the former.
“If we examine the decade of the Mahathir administration, we will find that the scandals, unaccountability, the human rights violations and abuses of power have one common thread – to protect and further the economic interests of the ruling political elites. This necessitated a growing concentration of political power in the hands of the Executive and increasingly in the hands of the Prime Minister, at the expense of the fundamental constitutional principles of the Separation of Powers among the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary, the Independence of the Judiciary and the Rule of Law.
Under his political culture, the role of Law and Judges is not to ensure justice and protect human rights, but to protect the vested economic interests of the powers-that-be from expose and jeopardy.
Two-thirds parliamentary majority has become a blank cheque for abuses of power and human rights violations.”
Emperor Lim was notably vocal on the issues of the Forex scandal that all but wiped out our Bank Negara reserves and also the BMF scandal before he became the jockey that now rides on the political mule called Mahathir. But the things he wrote on Mahathir are still there waiting to be used against the latter should he (Mahathir) forget his current position – a mule.
As a matter of fact, Emperor Lim also has examples of abuse of power in relation to freedom of the press during Mahathir’s time – and I am not talking just about Ops Lallang.
So for Mahathir to claim that he never abused his power as the Prime Minister is an absolute farce. It only goes to show how desperate he is to paint a false picture of his past to the youngsters who were yet to be born when Mahathir had this country beneath his fists.
He thinks that the Pakatan will collectively agree to his ambitions of either putting his son as the Prime Minister or he become one himself based on his 22-year experience.
But we all know that no one in the Pakatan wishes to have another one term of Mahathir remembering what he was capable of. So they will just ride on his anger towards Najib Razak…like the old mule he is.
I have no respect for the perfidious people above. I have no respect for people who leave their party and form or join another and go against their former party.
Nor do I have respect for people who go back on their words after spending a lifetime making others believe those words.
Spineless. Principle-less.
Look at Mat Sabu for instance. Once he was speaking out loud against the Christians.
He even spoke against the proselytising of Muslims by Christian evangelists, giving speeches against the act.
Now he is subservient to the party that is run by evangelists – becoming their loyal dog that does their biddings.
Then you have this 92-year old man who once claimed that Anwar Ibrahim is too old to become a Prime Minister.
Suddenly he is thinking of becoming the Prime Minister again, after saying he’d never return to the Premier seat again.
Probably that is the reason he did not lift the “Anwar As The 7th PM” placard at the recent PKR convention and pretended he was takkng a video with his phone.
We are, I guess, living in the age of the auld lang swine.

Tokong Lim asked what is PAS still doing being part of the Selangor state government when it (PAS) has severed political cooperation with PKR.
“Wouldn’t a couple be committing aduktery if they slept together after a divorce?” he asked, probably reminded by a habit frequently repeated his Chinese-disguised-as-a-Malay officer.
I often wonder why is DAP in bed with two people whom they severely criticised when they were of no political benefit to the DAP?
But the DAP is most forgiving because Mahathir is an old mule that could still serve DAP’s purpose.
Of course DAP maintains all digital records of their leadership lambasting Mahathir because when an old mule is no longer of any use, they can kill it.
The DAP would do anything including sleeping with criminals, go against the Federal Constitution and breach laws just so it can have power.
Then in an about turn, he said that there is no need for Tokong Lim to go on leave until he has been found guilty. Otherwise, he would have to go on leave just because of baseless accusations.
Five months earlier forked-tongue Tony said that Najib Razak should resign for being implicated in the 1MDB probe.
Najib Razak has been cleared by the tripartite investigation teams of any wrongdoing regarding 1MDB and unlike ex-convict Lim Guan Eng, was never charged in court.
It is unbelievably that the DAP leadership would not know the Elections Act as well as the Federal Constitution’s articles on taking up another country’s citizenship.
But of course the DAP is in the business of duping the rakyat into believing that it is fighting for the rakyat when all they want is the power and to be in positions where they can make money out of the rakyat.
Else why should there be fundraising dinners to fund Empurau dishes and also a RM305 million never-completed study for a tunnel?
DAP is just a bed of crooks, and those who voted for them a a bunch of stupid monkeys.
