Harapan Yang Berbahaya

Pakatan Orang-Orang Yang Tidak Menghormati Undang-Undang

Pada bulan Disember 2007, harapan Pakatan iaitu Tian Chua telah menggigit seorang konstabel polis Rosyaidi Anuar yang sedang melaksanakan tugas beliau di luar perkarangan bangunan Parlimen.  Akibat perbuatan tersebut, Tian Chua telah dipenjarakan selama enam bulan dan denda RM3,000.00 pada tahun berikutnya.

Pada tahun 2017, Tian Chua telah menarik balik rayuannya di mahkamah terhadap hukuman penjara yang telah dikenakan terhadapnya kerana gagal mematuhi arahan polis untuk bersurai semasa perhimpunan BERSIH 3.0 pada tahun 2012.

Terkini, Tian Chua telah didapati tidak layak bertanding untuk Pilihanraya Umum Ke-14 kerana telah didenda sebanyak RM2,000.00.

Satu persoalan telah timbul kerana sebelum ini Tian Chua yang dikenakan hukuman denda RM3,000.00 pada tahun 2008 kerana menggigit seorang anggota polis seperti di atas, telah membuat rayuan dan mendapat pengurangan denda dari RM3,000.00 ke RM2,000.00.

Pada pendapat saya, Hakim Ghazali Cha telah membuat kesilapan dalam penghakimannya dengan mengulas bahawa hukuman denda tersebut dikurangkan dari RM3,000.00 ke RM2,000.00 untuk mengelakkan daripada perlunya mengadakan sebuah pilihanraya kecil yang akan memakan belanja yang amat besar untuk mencari seorang Ahli Parlimen yang baru.

Penghakiman tersebut berniat baik, namun tersilap dari segi Perlembagaan.  Akibatnya, Tian Chua telah dibenarkan untuk kekal sebagai Ahli Parlimen Kawasan Batu, dan bertanding semula pada tahun 2013.

Terkini, Tian Chua telah dilucut kelayakan untuk bertanding dalam Pilihanraya Umum Ke-14 kerana telah dihukum denda sebanyak RM2,000.00.  Pada asalnya, Tian Chua telah dihukum denda sebanyak RM3,000.00 kerana menghina seorang pegawai polis.  Hukuman tersebut telah dikurangkan kepada RM2,000.00 kerana ianya tidak melibatkan perbuatan fizikal seperti…kegemaran Tian Chua…menggigit.

Namun, Artikel 48(1)(e) Perlembagaan Persekutuan jelas menyebut mana-mana orang yang dihukum dengan pemenjaraan selama tempoh tidak kurang daripada satu tahun atau denda tidak kurang daripada dua ribu ringgit dan dia tidak mendapat pengampunan bebas adalah tidak layak untuk menjadi seorang Ahli Parlimen.

Ini bermakna, Tian Chua telah dihalang oleh Perlembagaan Persekutuan dan bukannya oleh SPR itu sendiri.

Bahayanya Harapan

Pada bulan Ogos 2012, saya telah berpeluang untuk berbuka puasa dengan 120 orang Islam bekas murtad dan mereka menceritakan kepada saya bagaimana liciknya taktik yang digunakan pihak-pihak evangelis untuk memurtadkan orang Islam di Malaysia.

Ramai dari kalangan para pemegang jawatan dalam DAP adalah mereka yang beragama Kristian dan agak fanatik.  Di antara mereka yang tersenarai sebagai beragama Kristian dari kalangan pemegang jawatan dalam DAP termasuk Lim Guan Eng, Tony Pua, Teresa Kok, Hannah Yeoh, Ong Kian Ming, dan Yeo Bee Yin.

Saya juga pernah menulis betapa liciknya cara mereka memasukkan jarum evangelis di kalangan orang Melayu Islam hinggakan ada dari kalangan orang Melayu yang berjubah dan bertudung kini merupakan apa yang digelar oleh para pendakwah evangelis sebagai Messianic Muslims.

Bermula dengan nama Barisan Alternatif, pakatan yang ada kini dikenali pula dengan nama Pakatan Rakyat yang juga mengandungi parti PAS, dan kemudiannya dinamakan Pakatan HARAPAN setelah PAS tidak lagi mahu menyertai Pakatan tersebut.

Saya ingin tumpu kepada perkataan HARAPAN itu sendiri.

HARAPAN adalah HOPE di dalam Bahasa Inggeris. Menurut John Piper, pengasas DesiringGod.org dan seorang Canselor di Bethlehem College and Seminary di Amerika Syarikat, makna HOPE (HARAPAN) dalam Bahasa Inggeris mungkin menjurus kepada menantikan sesuatu yang tidak pasti akan berlaku.  Namun dalam pengajaran Kristian, HOPE atau HARAPAN adalah keyakinan/kepercayaan terhadap sesuatu yang telah dijanjikan oleh Tuhan, atau dalam bahasa mudahnya: AQIDAH (FAITH).

Menurut kitab Injil, “Kepercayaan datangnya dari mendengar, dan mendengar kata-kata Tuhan.” (Romans 10:17).

Lihat gambar di atas – perkataan yang tertera di bahagian depan baju beliau ialah HOPE.  Adakah disebabkan pengaruh Islam dalam Pakatan telah dihapuskan dengan tidak termasuknya PAS di dalam Pakatan yang baharu maka Pakatan kini digelar Pakatan HARAPAN?

Adakah secara kebetulan juga Reverend Bernard Paul pernah mengutus jemputan kepada semua yang beragama Kristian untuk “menubuhkan kerajaan Tuhan di negara ini” dengan menolak kerajaan Barisan Nasional yang diketuai UMNO, sebuah parti Melayu yang memelihara Islam sebagai agama Persekutuan serta Raja-Raja Melayu sebagai payung agama Islam dan adat-istiadat orang Melayu?

Mungkin HARAPAN ini ada kena-mengena dengan apa yang disebut dalam Kitab Injil melalui Zechariah 14:9 iaitu:

“Tuhan akan menjadi raja atas seluruh bumi. Pada hari itu Tuhan akan menjadi satu dan namanya hanya satu.”

Memang bahaya siapa yang harapkan HARAPAN ini. Bahaya lagi Pakatan ini kepada aqidah orang Islam.

A Lesson On Fake News In Malaysia

STUDENT activism in Malaysia peaked in December 1974, having started in September of the same year in Tasek Utara, Johor Bahru, when some 5,000 students demonstrated at the Selangor Club Padang (now Dataran Merdeka) and as expected, clashed with the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU).

As a result, the students retreated to Masjid Negara with the FRU hot on their heels.  The demonstration was culled and 1,128 students arrested. The student leaders who were holed up on the University of Malaya campus were soon arrested and so were those who hid inside their rented rooms in nearby Kampung Kerinchi.

Three representatives of Kampung Kerinchi complained that the FRU had taken harsh measures to apprehend the students by firing tear gas and that had resulted in the death of a baby.

My father immediately summoned his then deputy, the late Tan Sri Mahmood Yunus, and then Director of Special Branch, the late (Tan Sri) Mohamed Amin Osman, and asked them if the FRU had indeed fired tear gas into Kampung Kerinchi. Amin was adamant the FRU did nothing as such.

When asked if he (Amin) had checked the allegations himself and also the report received from the FRU troop leader, Amin said no.  So my father instructed Amin to go to Kampung Kerinchi to check himself.

“Celaka! Depa tipu saya!” (“Hell! They lied to me!”) exclaimed Amin when he saw the empty tear gas canisters that littered the lanes of Kampung Kerinchi, to which my father replied, “You fell for it because you did not check the information yourself!”

Fake news is a neologism that has entered the lexicon, used to collectively describe rumours, hoaxes, misinformation, propaganda and recycling of old rumours that had been debunked, that mislead people into believing that they are current and true.

Fake news caused the Barisan Nasional to lose its long-held two-thirds majority in 2008 because it was complacent and not quick enough to react and dispel these rumours.  Back then, political discussions and dissemination of fake news or propaganda occurred in chat rooms, in SMS, and blogs which were only a handful then.  Now there is Facebook, Twitter, Line, Telegram, WhatsApp, YouTube over and above the media available almost ten years ago.

Claire Wardle, Executive Director of First Draft a non-profit organisation dedicated to finding solutions to the challenges associated with trust and truth in the digital age housed at the Shorenstein Centre on Media, Politics and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, categorised mis and disinformation into seven types:

Satire or parody – this type of misinformation has no intention to cause harm but has potential to fool. A good example of this is of a message purportedly sent by a passenger of the MH370 who said he managed to hide his iPhone5 up his anus!  This had been debunked as a prank, but there are those who still believe that the person did manage to shove a five-inch by two-inch phone up his anus without any problem on the island of Diego Garcia.

Misleading content – most recent would be issues tweeted by two artistes that evolve around the rising cost of living, the weakening ringgit, a shambolic economy, designed to rile up anger in their followers. The tweets, not backed by published facts and figures, would do damage to those who have no inclination to check for the truth and to retweet or forward to others.

Imposter content – these are usually propaganda designed to use genuine sources but impersonated as theirs. A simple example would be of Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s recent event officiating the opening of the Rawang-Serendah Bypass, eight days after the bypass was opened by a minister.

Fabricated content – this type of content is 100 per cent false and is designed to deceive and cause harm. If you remember in July 2007, PKR’s Tian Chua admitted that he had fabricated a photo to show that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was together with Abdul Razak Baginda and now dead Mongolian-model Altantuya Shaaribu in Paris.

False connection – this is when headlines, visuals and captions do not support the content. The most famous example from recent times was of The Star’s headline that said “Malaysian Terrorist Leader” while having a huge photo of Muslims praying during the first night of Ramadan. Although The Star apologised for the error, it was not the first time it had made a similar mistake.

False context – this is when genuine content is shared with false contextual information. Artiste Fathia Latiff put up a screen capture of the price of fuel in various OPEC countries on Twitter, asking why Malaysia, as an oil producing country, charges very high for petrol?  The screen capture is of oil prices back in 2014. The average value of fuel prices for Malaysia between September 4, 2017 and December 11, 2017, was RM2.23. For comparison, the average price of petrol in the world for this period was RM5.82!

Manipulated content – this is when genuine information or image is manipulated to deceive. Recently, there was a video of a skinny polar bear with muscle atrophy struggling to find food in a snowless land that was made viral. This was attributed to global warming. However, the video was filmed in August when the tundra was snowless. It was only published in December.  Even the indigenous community living in the area thought it was a stunt to raise more funds and was doing a disservice to the war against climate change.

I don’t know why Malaysians are so gullible and eager to share fake news.

In WhatsApp groups, you can see how some people could post about something religious and then help spread fake news – something totally against religions. Nowadays, this fake news comes with a disclaimer – “Dari group sebelah”.

Every time we forward or share a post without double-checking or verifying, we add to the noise and confusion.  We never consider the source, we never consider the supporting sources and worst of all, we never check our biases.

The late Tan Sri Amin learnt this the hard way.

Having seen that he was misled about the FRU not firing tear gas into Kampung Kerinchi, he went on to check about the claims of a baby that had died as a result of the tear gas.  None of the three village representatives had themselves seen the dead baby and no one had actually reported to them of the death.

When asked where the information had come from, they replied, “From Anwar Ibrahim and the other student leaders!”

It seems that nothing has changed since 1974.

Ah So Wants Police To Wipe Her Arse After She Craps

The Grand Ah-So from BERSIH wants police to stop political violence

Maria China Abdullah, the Grand Ah-So of BERSIH, has spoken out against the silence of the country’s leaders on the recent political violence involving solely Parti Pemecah Belah Melayu (PPBM) members.

She said that this is the first time that Malaysia is experiencing such political violence because the country’s leadership refuses to say anything.  She also added that the Inspector-General of Police and the Home Minister must take a drastic stand to stop political violence.

My guess is this somewhat non-halal Khadijah binti Khuwaylid wanna-be is the kind of mother who would blame the teachers at a PTA meeting for her children’s unruly behaviour and expects the teachers to bring her children up while she spends her time doing her nails and playing Candy Crush.

And I don’t know when, in recent times, did she get off the steamship from England (she was born in England in 1956) that she does not know the history of political violence in Malaysia.  Maybe I ought to share with her some of my writings to show who has been advocating political violence and is now using others to do so for him.

Less than two years before the 13 May 1969 tragedy happened, a Hartal protest in Pulau Pinang ended up as a racial clash that saw 27 dead and 137 people injured.

Last weekend’s violence at the EVERYTHING TUN HIDE event organised by PPBM erupted when PPBM members themselves started throwing chairs at Wan Muhammad Ashraf Nasjamuddin, PPBM Shah Alam’s Logistics and Security Chief to prevent him from asking Mahathir any question.  Prior to Wan Muhammad Ashraf, Taufik Abas who is a former PPBM AMANDA’s exco asked Mahathir about his involvement and thoughts on the Memali massacre that had occured during Mahathir’s premiership.

Taufik had earlier told reporters that he was the target of the troublemakers as they were angry with him for asking the question.  He said that there was no way the chairs were aimed at Mahathir as the stage was quite a distance from where the chair was thrown.

Wan Muhammad Ashraf said it was supposed to be his turn to ask a question after Taufik Abas, who had asked Tun about Memali. But before he got a chance to, a chair was flung towards him and landed right in front of him. Another steel chair was also thrown towards him from an upper floor by an organising committee member.

“The chairs were not aimed at Tun at all, as Tun was seated far away. I believe this was a tactic to prevent me from directing questions to Tun Dr Mahathir,” he told reporters.

And what about the PKR Kota Raja election? Was BN involved too?

But of course, Maria China Abdullah puts the onus on others to stop the violent acts.  Since when is the police or the government responsible for stopping people from becoming violent? Are they untrained animals who cannot think for themselves that they need cattle prods to keep them in check?

Or would Maria China Abdullah like to return to the days of Mahathir where the police was given powers to make pre-emptive actions to stop violence and lock people away without any chance of a fair trial?

And see whose children are these who have been behaving in violent manner without any respect for the rule of law?

And if Maria China Abdullah would care to read the Peaceful Assembly Act, 2012, she would know that the responsibility to provide security and safety of gatherings lie on the organisers of the event, and not the police.  Perhaps she would like the Federal Reserve Unit to be stationed inside the event hall and bludgeon the empty heads that are present whenever there is a hint of violence.

I don’t thin Maria China Abdullah is even fit to become a parent because she cannot control her own. She should just sit down at the Hou Keng Restaurant with PKR mongrel Tian Chua and have plates of Tomato Sauce Pork Chop Rice like the “Prophet’s Wife” her followers claim her to be.

So Maria China Abdullah, when are you going to ask the Opposition leaders to denounce political violence? Or do you still expect the police to wipe your arse after you crap?

Selamat Hari Raya, PM Ke-7

Will the real 7th Prime Minister please stand up?

When I first set my eyes upon the photo above late last month, I thought of individual monologues based on the body language shown by the individuals in the photo.

Lim Kit Siang: “I am only holding this up because I will need the support of the Malays in PKR.”

Mahathir: “Anwar as the 7th PM? No way, Jose!”

Azmin: “I don’t really want to put this up but I need the party to vote me for the top post.”

Wan Azizah: “Better him than me. I am clueless most of the time!”

The above photo is the perfect depiction of how the Opposition front is in a disarray.  Each of the parties in the Pakatan Harapan want to become the Big Brother. PKR believes that it has what it needs to lead the coalition; Pribumi believes that it should have the lead role as it has a former Prime Minister as well as a former Deputy Prime Minister (and throw in a former Menteri Besar who did virtually nothing for the state he governed); while the DAP knows that it is the Kingmaker in the coalition, and no matter who becomes the Pakatan’s PM, they call the shots.

However, if those above were actually sincerely hoping for Anwar Ibrahim to become the next Prime Minister, they would be utterly disappointed as Anwar had recently announced the removal of himself as the coalition’s PM candidate.  The announcement leaves the race to become the Pakatan’s Prime Minister candidate to just two persons – Azmin Ali, PKR’s current Deputy President and Menteri Besar of Selangor, and U-Turn Mahathir, a former Prime Minister who stepped down but now misses the power that comes with the seat.


Wan Azizah does not come close to being the person either Azmin or Mahathir are.

But what of Lim Kit Siang?

Lim Kit Siang is the de facto father of the Opposition, no matter by what name you call it.  Although he declared that he is not interested in the post of the Prime Minister, everyone knows that he does not have to be in the seat to actually rule the country.  Nizar Jamaluddin, the JKR engineer who once went on to become Perak’s Menteri Besar, contested on PAS’s ticket but became the MB because his mother is related to Perak DAP henchmen Ngeh Koo Ham and Nga Kor Ming.  Through Nizar, the DAP managed to get things done its way, including giving leasehold land to Chinese New Villages inhabitants for 999 years!

Although Kit Siang is just a member of the DAP’s Central Executive Committee and nothing more, he is the hidden hand behind the CEC and especially his son, Lim Guan Eng (Tokong) who is the party’s Secretary-General.

Lim Kit Siang is known to use whatever means at his disposal to make sure he stays in power.

Those born in the mid-1970s and onwards may not have heard of the name Goh Hock Guan. He was the DAP Secretary-General who was involved in a power tussle with Kit Siang.

Hock Guan, who was also the Selangor DAP Chairman, wanted to field Lau Dak Kee in the Ulu Selangor by-election but Kit Siang favoured (now Tan Sri) Lee Lam Thye.

The repeat of this was in Johor during the 13th General Elections where Kit Siang and Tokong pushed aside then-state DAP Chairman Boo Cheng Hau and fielded their minions in order to hold on to power.

Kit Siang’s next move was to expel Hock Guan from the party. Others who were expelled included Dr Soarian, Chan Teck Chan, Seow Hun Khin, Chin Nyuk Soo and Goh Lin Eam.

Goh Hock Guan, in his letter to Cheng Man Hin, said,

“I don’t want to have any relationship with Lim Kit Siang. We’re totally adverse in terms of viewpoints and personality. As long as Kit Siang is holding the position as the Secretary-General of the DAP, he would definitely and finally destroy the future of DAP.”

Lee Lam Thye was made the Deputy Secretary-General but without power nor authority. Under Kit Siang’s orders, Lam Thye was not allowed to give views nor comments of any dissatisfaction. But he had an impeccable record of service to his constituency, and this threatened Kit Siang’s position.

On 29 September 1990, Lee Lam Thye dropped a bombshell announcing his departure from the DAP.  He said,

“A few leaders had hurt me from behind…I can’t stand anymore.”

After Lam Thye’s resignation, Lim Kit Siang issued a gag-order on the DAP ordering all party members to ‘shut-up’, avoiding giving any statement, view or statement through the media.

Azmin Ali may be the star of PKR but he does not have the support of the leadership.  It is no secret that he has no love whatsoever for Wan Azizah and her camp.

While Wan Azizah is no match for Azmin, who was Anwar’s Principal Private Secretary, Rafizi and Tian Chua who are in the former’s camp has been actively and openly doing things to undermine Azmin’s position.

Dubbed as the UMNO-man in PKR, I doubt that Azmin would make it to the Prime Minister’s seat as long as there still are those who are opposed to him.

And I also doubt his ability to rein them in onto his side.

This leaves us with the Gollum who still yearns for his precious seat.


At 92, many think that he is too old to be returning to the Premiership. He doesn’t think so.  Even with a protem Pribumi President, he thinks that only he is fit to lead the nation he dumped in 2003.


Which is why despite concerns he has twice hinted that the next Prime Minister for Malaysia is him.

We all know what kind of a PM he was, and we all know putting him and Kit Siang side-by-side, they are actually one of a kind. Both are fighting for the survival of their dynasty while current PKR’s reason for struggle has not changed since 1998 – Anwar Ibrahim’s freedom and nothing else beyond that.

Wan Azizah has already announced after Anwar’s bombshell announcement that the Pakatan should concentrate on winning the next general elections before thinking of who is to become the PM.

That is as absurd as saying let us get in the car and then we decide where to go on a holiday.  Everybody wants to know who will become the PM if they let you win.  Having said that, you do not need to have a brain if you are Wan Azizah

Although time is running out for him, Mahathir has no problem working with arch enemy Kit Siang as long as he gets to become PM again.

Maybe all he wants is to die in office. That way he stays No.1 till kingdom come.  Who doesn’t want a send-off fit for a Pharaoh? So, in the meantime, wishing the 7th PM Selamat Hari Raya, whoever you may be.

Rebuttal: Con Air

I refer to an article in The Star dated 25th September 2012 implying that I exposed Dato Taufik Omar as the person who had loaned the said private jet to Anwar.

I hope that the respected newspaper had read my blog posting that only mentioned Dato Taufik is said to be the operator, or owner, or agent of the aircraft, and that he should come forth to clear the air to the masses on the situation.

Con Air

Much has been said about Anwar Ibrahim’s flight to Labuan using a private jet, that even Khairy Jamaluddin’s questioned Anwar’s reason for using the private jet – which was because flight connections to Labuan is poor, a bull I refuse to believe because being in the offshore industry, Labuan is among my usual destinations.

According to the Gerakan’s Youth Chief, Anwar claimed that the use of the private jet was made available by a friend who expects nothing in return, while Anwar’s lieutenant and fellow passenger, Tian Chua, claims that it was chartered from the owner. Who’s telling the truth remains unclear at press time.

The aircraft in question, a Dassault Mystere Falcon 900, registration N990BB is registered to an American company, but has been operating out of Subang since at least February of 2012. In 1995, the cost of operating such aircraft per flight hour was USD9700., which makes you wonder why would one want to foot such a bill out of goodwill?

The aircraft is registered to Wells Fargo Bank Northwest as its trustee, but reliable sources in Subang (remember, I have an aviation background, too!) tell me that the operator, or owner, or agent for the aircraft in Malaysia is one Dato Mohamad Taufik bin Haji Omar, Chairman of LD Sports Sdn Bhd, President of the Malaysian Judo Association.

In order to clear this con air, I strongly urge Dato Taufik to come forth and explain to the masses.

Let us await his response.
