It’s almost like the Netflix series called ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’ where things don’t get any better as it progresses. Or so it seems for Bahri Mohammad Zin, former Director of Special Operations of the MACC, and his second wife Noor Haslina Abdullah who proclaims to be the Director-General of Akademi Memandu KIST Sdn Bhd (AMKIST).
Earlier this evening, I received a press statement by Noraihan Che Ali, the widow of Noor Haslina’s eldest brother Mazly pertaining to a police report filed by Bahri against her last week.
According to the statement, Noraihan welcomes the report made by Bahri and hopes that the MACC as well as the police would then expedite the investigation into the matter.
She was made to understand, the raid by MACC’s Special Operations Division headed by Bahri was based on the report to MACC (report number IPJ/RPTNO/0011/2016) made by none other than Noor Haslina herself. Noraihan pointed that although Bahri denies of any involvement the fact that the raiding party originated from Bahri’s division makes the whole affair more sinister.
Perhaps the two characters named in the Search Order above need to be interviewed by the police!
Noraihan also noted that the MACC website says that the Special Operations Division was formed in 2010 to investigate high-profile cases as well as cases of public interest and asks how can a family property tussle be a high-profile case or something of public interest that warrants the Division to interfere?
A quick check on the MACC website confirms Noraihan’s statement.
It looks like Noraihan’s questions are valid and warrants a thorough investigation by the police. The MACC has no choice but to cooperate in providing all neccessary information and documents pertaining to the case.
The MACC is a government body entrusted to stem if not eradicate corrupted practices in this country and it is only right that it seeks out to rid itself of people who have and can abuse this trust.
The above is a cover of Lim Kit Siang’s 1983 book on the BMF scandal that involved the Mahathir administration.
The scandal must have been so damning that it warranted a book written of the accounts.
And in the age of the Internet you can find at least ten works of Lim Kit Siang that are related to the BMF scandal.
Three years after the publication of the above book, Lim Kit Siang published another one! So important was the BMF scandal that he had to publish another to keep the public informed of the scandal.
Three Bank Negara governors resigned within a span of 13 years beginning with Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Taha in 1985 who cited disagreement with Mahathir’s administration on lending policies.
His successor the late Tan Sri Jaafar Hussein resigned in the wake of a massive RM15 billion foreign exchange loss suffered by the bank in defending the ringgit.
Finally Tan Sri Ahmad Mohd Don resigned in 1998 over differences with Mahathir on monetary policies.
The BMF scandal was so important to Lim Kit Siang because unlike the 1MDB, billions of public funds meant for the betterment of the people, the Bumiputera in particular, disappeared and we have all been told to just “let it slide.”
Some may say that I am inaccurate but since when have my detractors had any attention for accuracies? They prefer to believe rubbish like the Sarawak Report than actual published audited documents.
That is just a sign of desperation. Now a 30-year old CIA document has exposed the undoing of the Malaysian economy by a certain dictator-like leader.
Even the man in question has gone on record declaring that he was not the CEO of Bumiputera Malaysia Finance (BMF) or Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad (BBMB) when the whole affair began.
First and foremost, we must understand the structure of BBMB and BMF to understand the scandal.
BBMB was formed through monies from Petronas (RM50 million per month) with the aim to assist the Bumiputera agenda. BMF was formed as a subsidiary to invest in properties in Hong Kong using the monies received by BBMB.
A series of loans totalling RM2.5 billion were given by BMF to the Carrian Group beginning 1979 to invest in Hong Kong’s booming property industry.
As BBMB was a GLC, any investment abroad would naturally come under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
In 1979, MITI was already under the stewardship of none other than U-Turn Mahathir, who was also the Deputy Prime Minister since Tun Razak’s passing in 1976.
Obviously Mr U-Turn would have had to okay any form of investment to be made by BBMB’s subsidiary.
In fact, according to his old new friend Anwar Ibrahim, when the whole deal turned sour about three to four years later, U-Turn Mahathir who was then the Prime Minister even okayed for more money to be thrown into the venture to contain the damage!
In the end, BBMB had had to be rescued using taxpayers money twice, amounting to USD600 million in today’s terms.
There was never a Royal Commission of Inquiry set to investigate the causes of the losses.
After being pressured, U-Turn Mahathir in the end reluctantly formed a three-man commission led by the late Tan Sri Ahmad Nordin (then Datuk Wira) to investigate the case.
This commission had no real powers and in 1986 concluded that what was going on in BMF was just “the tip of the iceberg” and implied that bigger hands were at play.
The commission’s report was never tabled in Parliament and had limited public release (2,000 copies only at RM250 each said the Malaysian Bar).
Tan Sri Ahmad Nordin was accused of working with the Opposition and was ostracised by the Mahathir administration.
That, my friends, was how innocent U-Turn Mahathir was.
My wife knows how I often thank people – be it a hotel cleaner, the toll booth operator manning the TouchNGo reload booth, the waiter at some stall.
This time I would like to thank Lim Kit Siang for being the proud politician that he has alwas been – the self-glorification by a man who thinks very greatly of himself, his works, his speeches, his essays; that he shares all these with us online that it feels like you are walking through a Presidential library of a man never destined to preside over or administer a country.
It does sound like U-Turn Mahathir and I dare say it also partly has to do with trying to save his son from an imminent prison sentence for corrupt practices while being a Chief Minister.
The other part, in my opinion, is because of the recent revelation of CIA documents linking U-Turn Mahathir to the Bumiputera Malaysia Finance scandal of 1983 that saw billions of Ringgits missing and resulted in the death of a senior bank auditor for knowing too much, and the suicide committed by the Carrian Group’s adviser.
It was during U-Turn Mahathir’s watch, two years into his stewardship, that Bank Bumiputera which was a government-owned bank formed with the purpose of assisting unfortunate Bumiputeras lost that huge sum of money.
And according to the CIA document it was impossible for Mahathir’s cabinet to not know anything about the outflow of such a huge amount of money in the form of loans given to a non-Bumiputera associate of his in Hong Kong.
Mahathir, like in the PKFZ hearing, has denied any knowledge of the missing money.
Unfortunate for Kit Siang, he cannot claim ignorance of what he had said about the scandal be it on camera or online.
Like I said, Kit Siang is so proud of himself, his works, speeches etc., that he shares them all with us online. And there are about ten posts related to the BMF scandal itself.
That article dated 29th February 1992 has an interesting ending where Kit Siang asked the following:
“If the Government leaders have nothing to hide, why is the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed, and the present Cabinet so adamant in refusing to commissioning a full public inquiry into the BMF scandal?”
This is one lump of dirt that even Kit Siang cannot sweep underneath his carpet. He knows that if he continues to work with U-Turn Mahathir, his political career would be as dead as a Dodo.
So he makes a U-turn and decides to work with the Barisan Nasional to rid the country of the biggest kleptomaniac of all – U-Turn Mahathir s/o Mohamad.
Thank you again Lim Kit Siang, for the reading material. You really made my day.
The 19th Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces YM General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi bin Raja Mohamed Noor who took over command from his predecessor on the 16th December 2016 today delivered his Prime Directives.
He did so to 2,100 men and women of the Malaysian Armed Forces at the Kuantan Airbase on the 23rd January 2017.
He outlined four pillars that would ensure the Malaysian Armed Forces remain a credible force in the eyes of friends and foes alike.
We Are One basically requires all three services of the MAF to cooperate as an entity and that being different from one another should not be an obstacle towards achieving a unified objective.
Professionalism Moulds Excellence is where every member of the MAF should strive towards enhancing their knowledge and skills as the goals of the MAF can only be achieved through having an edge in knowledge and skills.
Potent Force requires efficient management of assets as well as human resources development through which integrity would provide for effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation.
We Strive To Do Good is about maintaining the image of the MAF through core values and code of ethics of the MAF. These values are based on spiritual strength, bravery and esprit de corps.
General Raja Mohamed Affandi’s message was broadcasted to all formation headquarters, divisions, brigades, bases and units around Malaysia via video conferencing.
In attendance were the Chief of the Malaysian Army, Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy as well as the Chief of the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
He later greeted men and women of the MAF while having light refreshments with them after the parade.
Bahri Mohamad Zin with his (second?) psychotic wife, Noor Haslina AbdullahIn April 1999, Anwar Ibrahim was sentenced to six years imprisonment for abusing his power as the Deputy Prime Minister to coerce witnesses to retract their statement against him.
Bahri Mohamad Zin, the former Director of Special Operations of the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) who apparently leads a ‘master and servant‘ lifestyle with his wife Noor Haslina Abdullah as the master, did the very same thing on the 18th January 2016.
A team from the MACC’s Special Operations Unit was dispatched from Putrajaya to raid the house of Noor Haslina’s widowed sister-in-law Noraihan to seize documents linked to a dispute involving Noor Haslina and the latter.
This was revealed by Noraihan Che Ali at a media conference today. Noraihan was accompanied by her lawyer Datuk Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar.
Noraihan said that she and her children moved out of their house after it was seized by the MACC.
Noraihan added that both Noor Haslina and Bahri had tried to get her (Noraihan) to sign a document agreeing to give up her rights and her children’s rights to the properties estimated at RM100 million left by her late husband.
Prior to the raid, Noor Haslina and Bahri had tried to obtain an agreement from Noraihan and her children to forgo their rights to the properties. They even tried to force Noraihan’s nine-year old son to get his thumbprint for the said document.
Noraihan’s lawyer Datuk Ahmad Zaharil also revealed that Noor Haslina and Bahri had doctored a will to exclude Noraihan and family from receiving any property.
“This is a family matter, why should there be an involvement of the MACC? And it has been a year since the raid was made, don’t tell me they need such a long time to investigate (the documents),” asked Datuk Ahmad Zaharil.
“And Noor Haslina should go to a court of law to obtain a power of attorney to administer Allahyarham Zamly’s properties instead of using high-handed methods,” he added.
Noraihan lodged two police reports last year which were first revealed to the public in an article posted by Malaysia Today early this month.
Both reports have not been acted upon seriously by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) especially on the part of abuse of power. The use of government apparatus to achieve one’s own goals is no different to what Anwar Ibrahim did and was jailed for.
Noraihan said that she and her family continuously live in constant fear as threats and harrassment have become a daily occurrence.
She revealed that she almost did not turn up for the press conference due to constant harassments including from people representing Noor Haslina. One of the WhatsApp messages trying to coerce Noraihan to not go ahead with the press conference
So it seems that Bahri who constantly portrays himself as a God-fearing, no-nonsense man, stinks to high heaven and would do anything for his wife in order to deny orphans their right to their late father’s properties.
The use of MACC apparatus for his own personal interest is a clear indication of his willingness to abuse his position to achieve his ends.
PDRM must act upon her reports while the MACC has to conduct an internal investigation or else there will be those who have the potential to continuation tarnish the good name the MACC is currently having under this current administration.
The Director-General of the Protection Division of the Prime Minister’s Department should also look into providing Noraihan Che Ali with a witness protection program given the continuous threats and harrassments they receive.
He dressed up not as James Bond as he looks like Scaramanga
When he wore his tuxedo to his James Bond themed birthday ball, YABhg U-Turn Mahathir did not turn up as Bond himself, but rather as one of the antagonists in the James Bond movie, Francisco Scaramanga. While Scaramanga used a golden gun to kill others, Mr Scare-a-monger here uses a golden pen.
In his reply to HRH Sultan of Johor Scare-a-monger pointed out that the bulk of purchasers of the Forest City properties are the mainland Chinese and that would cause that part of Johor to have “an inordinate percentage of foreign people.”
When Scare-a-monger launched the ‘Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H)’ programme in 2002, an inordinate percentage of foreign people did come to Malaysia to purchase properties.  Some even opened up companies to help facilitate their countrymen to own properties in Malaysia like Mr Ishihara Shotaro who is now a Malaysian permanent resident after being in Malaysia since 1992 and owns quite a number of properties around Malaysia.  Ishihara says that the dropped in the Ringgit is like a twenty percent discount for the Japanese on all properties in Malaysia.
So, when mainland Chinese property buyers come over to take advantage of Scare-a-monger’s MM2H programme, why is he crying foul?
It would also be a matter of time for Mr Ishihara Shotaro to be able to become a Malaysian citizen if he wishes to do so – thank you to Scare-a-monger’s MM2H programme.
Scare-a-monger also forgot to mention that when he wanted the Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC) built, foreign companies built it – namely Hazama Corporation from Japan for Tower One and Samsung Engineering and Construction for Tower Two. Â In fact although Ekovest led the construction for the KLIA, foreign companies became the consultants.
Scare-a-monger also went on to say that when foreigners take a loan to buy properties here, they take loans from local banks. Â Therefore, there is no capital inflow from abroad. Â Is he saying that foreigners can take up loans without having to have an account opened at local banks but locals do?
And if a bank account is required, do these foreigners go to Bank Negara to wait for newly-minted notes to be given to them for free so they could open up bank accounts here to get a loan? So where do they get money from to open bank accounts if not by bringing in from abroad?
And when he says a foreigner can buy property in China and get one flat or house free in Malaysia, no profit will be made in Malaysia, therefore no taxes will be paid to the Malaysian Government, can he tell me how is it possible for the Chinese developer in China to give free house in Malaysia for the buyer in China without first purchasing the house in Malaysia?  If these houses can be given for free to foreigners, why not give away some of these houses to Malaysians?
Scare-a-monger is getting old. Time is nearly up for him and he fears that when he dies, there would not be enough bank notes to cover his grave when others are contented to have earth fill up theirs.
So all he does is shoot off his golden gun and see what gets hit.
The only thing is he has so far been firing blanks just to scare people.
There is only one thing that has more U-Turns than the Jitra-Bukit Kayu Hitam stretch of the North-South Highway.
It is called YABhg U-Turn Mahathir.
He has made so many u-turns on so many of his previous stands that if he was walking instead of talking it would seem like he is suffering from Alzheimer’s but only with the memory intact.
The latest about turn was on BR1M where he said the Opposition would continue to disburse BR1M if it comes to power when just days before he said that BR1M is a form of bribery and is Haram.
Reeling after being caught with his langoti down the seemingly old but mulish Republican of Indian-descent trained his sight on Johor, lambasting HRH The Sultan of Johor for the sale of Forest City properties to investors from China specifically.
The Sultan struck back running the old Republican into the ground.
If you watch ‘The Roadrunner Show’ Wile E Coyote would always get up, brush himself, and continue executing his dastardly plans. Only that in this case it is more damaging than cute.
It was expected of Mahathir who habitually treats the Royal institution as an equal much like Chin Peng who regarded himself an equal to a Prime Minister when addressing former Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi only as Home Minister or Minister.
A letter from Chin Peng to Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi
Anyway the spat between HRH and HUT (Habitual U-Turn) is not what I was interested in.
I am more interested in Mahathir’s claim that his 22-year dictatorship never once saw blood being spilt.
Another example of Mahathir’s Alzheimer’s while having his memory intact
I still remember watching the BBC on TV in Mecca during the Haj season featuring on racial clashes in Taman Medan, Petaling Jaya in March 2001 that went on for days that resulted in the death of six people with scores injured.
Was that not during Mahathir’s administration? Or was that during Tun Razak’s watch?
And what about the near-tragedy between Malays and Chinese in 1987 that ended with Ops Lalang being executed? Who was the Prime Minister who had allowed the situation to spiral almost out of control? Tun Hussein Onn?
Even as late as 2013 before they became bosom pals, Lim Kit Siang was still labeling Mahathir a racist.
So YABhg U-Turn Mahathir s/o Mohamad, you were wrong when you coined the phrase ‘Melayu Mudah Lupa‘ as this Melayu has never forgotten the 22 years you ruled this country with an iron fist, dividing and conquering and then leaving the cohesiveness of the people of this nation in tatters.
As a result the openness introduced by your successor allowed the minorities marginalised during your reign of terror to now question or attack anything that is Malay, Islam or even linked to the Rulers Institution.
The only person who seems to have forgotten your wrongdoings is you yourself.
Go learn from the Malay adage “Memaku dulang paku yang serpih.”
Alas, you are not Malay to understand what that means.
Maka, janganlah dipercayai pembohongan Rafizi Ramli.
